Yeah, I can't even recall the last time I needed to go in for something. After speaking with them, I can mail the endorsed check to them and include a copy of our photo IDs. So I can do that, but I can't show up in person by myself, with a copy of my wife's ID? Nope. That just doesn't make any **** sense.I think my CU is similar but the only reason I actually go in is if I need a new debit card. for checks I use mobile deposit and that's maybe twice a year because apparently everyone but my sister uses Paypal and Venmo. Was looking to do this over the weekend only to see that my CU is now only open from 9-4:30, M-F. lol, amazing. In the past, I used to be able to deposit a check made out to both my wife and myself at the bank if we both endorsed it. Now? Both of us have to go to the bank at the same time to deposit it, since we don't have a joint account. So **** stupid, and a complete waste of our time.

is mobile check deposit not a thing with your CU or not possible because said check is made out to both of you? also, why do they make it out to both when it does nothing but complicate matters?
I'm way more invested than I should be in this.

We've got mobile deposit, too, but the issue is the lack of joint accounts. Whatever, the check is in the mail now.is mobile check deposit not a thing with your CU or not possible because said check is made out to both of you? also, why do they make it out to both when it does nothing but complicate matters?

I see rental car prices are still stupid expensive. I have to drop my Wrangler off at the garage tomorrow. I know 3 people who could give me a ride home. One is sick, one's having dental surgery under sedation, and the other's out of town. So, I figured I'd just rent a car for a day and have my mom (who doesn't own a car) drive it. Cheapest price from Enterprise is an economy level at $96 plus fees. For that price, I'll walk home.

I guess Uber hasn't gotten to Somerset yet.

Garage doesn’t have a loaner?

It's a small, privately owned shop. If I asked him to drive me home, I'm pretty sure he would. I just hate to inconvenience him, and it's only like 1 3/4 mile so it's no big deal.Garage doesn’t have a loaner?
I just can't believe how high rental prices still are. I mean, I could get a truck from U-haul for less.

have you looked into Turo (p2p rentals)? Sometimes pretty useful but have airbnb-esque fees occasionally

I've never even heard of Turbo until now. I checked, but I think there's only one car within 25 mi. and that's an Outback for $120 a day.
I appreciate the help though, guys. I'll be fine walking. Just wanted to whine about Enterprise.

Just liberate an enemy outpost that has a garage. You should be able access all their vehicles from there.

FWIW, Enterprise has always been the highest priced rental agency, IME.

They're the only game in town out here in the sticks. I used to be able to get great deals when I took road trips. Seven to ten day rentals in a full-sized car or mid-sized SUV for around $400 with unlimited miles. Worked great for my trips to Maine. I'm probably the reason rates went up.

my last few trips, I've been getting the best rates from Budget. important to note though, I don't use junk rental car companies like Dollar and Thrifty. I stick to Enterprise, Budget, Avis, Hertz, Alamo and National

I'm surprised you can make a distinction between Dollar and Budget/Avis.

I've had no issues with Budget or Avis. Dollar keeps their cars too long.I'm surprised you can make a distinction between Dollar and Budget/Avis.

Enterprise does have a lot of rural push for some reason. The little town where we moved from - 4000 people with one small degenerate college and a large employer - had an Enterprise location. They're the only game in town out here in the sticks.

I use Budget exclusively, if only for the fact that a) I have FastBreak, and b) I can find discount codes for any trip. I pay half of what everyone else does in Maui thanks to that.

Aren’t they all owned by the same like 2-3 holding companies?

Some of them are. Budget is part of the Avis Budget Group (merged a few years back).
