You know what really grinds my gears...
For some reason I decided to voluntarily listen to terrestrial radio today. After probably 15 years listening to SXM and WYEP pretty much exclusively, god are the commercials intrusive.
I'm a radio guy, was a DJ long ago and I'd get back into it in a second if I had the time (as a hobby-job deal because there is no money in it) but it is just crap to listen to.

The last two places I've lived - the last 16+ years - I don't have a single preset on my car other than public radio (which I don't listen to either). My kids have never listened to terrestrial radio.

As they say, be it TV or radio, a programmer's job is to play the maximum number of commercials possible in any 15-minute block that does not result is mass listener exodus.
We had a really good AM drive rock show on KROQ (Kevin & Bean), and until it was ruined with the death on Tony Blankley and their inability to find a worthy replacement I was a devoted Left, Right & Center listener on NPR. Vegas has a couple good hard rock stations, but I can count on three fingers the number of times I've driven in Vegas in the last dozen years. Other than that, I honestly can't remember the last time I had terrestrial radio even selected in my car. I don't even think I can remember the freqs of the big local stations.

The females in my home seem to have this belief that being a male gives me a unique qualification to remove knots from gold chains, despite my never having worn a gold chain or really dealt with one other than being handed one for knot removal (or putting one on her).

Same in my household. I always ask them how the **** they think my big hands are going to be better at those tiny knots than theirs would be.The females in my home seem to have this belief that being a male gives me a unique qualification to remove knots from gold chains, despite my never having worn a gold chain or really dealt with one other than being handed one for knot removal (or putting one on her).

Dads can fix anything, right?
Or at the very least break it and buy a new one.

FWIW, using two sewing needles can help get knots out of small chains.

Those are easy. Lightly rub the knot between a thumb and index finger. It’ll loosen quickly

Has anyone asked Slappy about the gold chain thing? I figure "If anyone would know...."

It does seem to be something women have absolutely no patience for. I do enjoy doing it. I don't enjoy an extension cord tangle as much though.

I'd say...
extension cords > chains > christmas lights > clothes in the washer when a draw string or bra gets caught on the agitator > Will and Jada's marriage.

The first Christmas gift I ever gave Mrs Tif was a Tiffany necklace. From the moment I purchased it in Century City to the point I gave it to her 5 or 6 days later in Vegas it sat unopened and undisturbed (it was wrapped, you see), and we drove that year so it was never not in my possession. When she opened it, the chain had bundled itself into such a tight knot that when we went to the LV Tiffany store to get them to fix it they just exchanged it for a new one.

I read Maniac MaGee when I was younger and always associated knot un-tying as a calming exercise.
Sometimes when I have a headache I'll kind of mediate by picturing untying a knot in my head.

Geno we have icicle lights, so our holiday light situation is often much more dire re tangles.

This is the opposite of what meow does to get off, asking his wife to tighten a tie around his neck.Source of the post Sometimes when I have a headache I'll kind of mediate by picturing untying a knot in my head.

My wife somehow wraps our christmas lights perfectly so they are never ever tangled. Not sure how she does it, but she takes the time when we take them down and it saves lots of headaches come the next winter when its time to put them back up.

I just create a spool with them on my arm and use velcro to secure them together. Never had an issue unwinding them.
