Something similar happened to me at boot camp. We were in the squad bay standing at attention at the end of our racks. Some moron farther down the line chucked a canteen full of water down the line and it hit me right in the side of the face. I've never really had an adrenaline shot like that because I got up ready to fight and the was no aggressor anywhere.

As soon as it hit me I was all like "WHAT THE F**K?!"

But yeah, buncha soff peen pseudo-athletes in here, don't know a Gatorade water bottle.

In a week the story will be I was hit by all the bottles. In six months, it will be all the bottles and the caddy. In a year, Rock Johnson will be the one who threw it/them.

Now I’m torn. Is this a meow issue or a California soft brained tif issue? Tough to tell.

Yrah, now it's a little closer...that's not how I would have described those because that clearly doesn't paint a picture...but it's definitely closer than I thought it would be now haha

Unfortunately, some clowns don't abide by this...

"I put tape around it!" To let me know that is a mix of pre workout, a mocha latte, yellow Gatorade and ex lax...

See, smart ones use tape so the 5 other people on the team who have the same bottle don't swig out of yours.

Tape and name or number is needed so it survives the dish washer

I mean, I think most knew he was talking about the gatorade bottle specifically. It's a nice visual, but ultimately unnecessary in terms of describing the impact of a water bottle to the face.

It's fine either way, so I have no problem with the wtif reaction.

Water bottle makes me think of a Disani bottle. Gatorade water bottle makes me think of a heavier bottle that would hurt more. I say good job tif.

Tif was out at a thing today, two kids were playing catch with a full water bottle. It was one of those green Gatorade bottles with the orange lids. One of kids missed, and the green, cylindrical, squeezable projectile came down and beaned him next to his right eye. Orbital bone worked as designed, just a cut and some swelling. He didn't see anything ahead of time because of his sweet wraparound Gatorz sunglasses, so it was just a total out-of-nowhere *WHACK*. When he came to, he drew this...

Yes, this is what I wanted to make clear. It wasn't a thin deformable thing, it was a hardshell molded projectile that would've given a decent smack even if it wasn't full of a pound and a half of water.

It's funny. I don't really have a black eye, just the mark where I was cut and a bit of swelling. But it's enough swelling that it's pulling up on the skin of my face a little giving me the slightest squint. The net effect of it is that I'll be walking around everywhere for the next couple days involuntarily looking slightly quizzical.

No, that would be a bottle of water. I don't think I've ever thought of bottled water when someone has said a water bottle. Water bottle makes me think of a bottle you continually reuse for water (or other liquids).

I feel like most water bottles I see nowadays are either like camelbak/yeti types or hard plastic nalgene ones. Anyway, hooray for semantics!

This is different how? ;)

It was the one-armed man...which explains why he couldn't catch the damn Gatorade rocket in the first place.
