"This bar has the BEST rum and cokes/jack and cokes/gin and tonics" in reviews of places online

The classic mistake of using slashes instead of commas. I see it all the time. Actually I've never seen that before.

I think he's saying it's impossible to make a Jack/Rum and Coke better than anyone else because it's literally the same exact thing anywhere you go.

What

I'm saying that the review includes one of those three drinks, not that someone is saying all three of those at once.

They taste the same everywhere is the larger point as MR pointed out

Changing the ratio of soda to alcohol can affect the flavor a distinguishable amount.

lolol at SDD's interpretation of that peeve. Excellent.

I have one. Back in the day (like 3 months ago), you could just search "scared gif" or "F U gif" in google and get hilarious, giffy results. There is a new website out there called Giphy (whatever the hell that is). Now, they seem to flood the search results with GIFs.....THAT ARE NOT ACTUAL ANIMATED GIFS. THEY ARE IMAGES. I have to click through 2 or 3 garbage Giphy links to get to an actual gif. F U Giphy.

In that case, the use of the word 'or' following the last comma, just before 'gin', would be appropriate.

Sending something important to a shared printed that you need right away, only to arrive at printer to find a hold up like 'load tray 2' or somesuch. You then load tray 2 lol twss again only to find that someone(s) had sent a huge freaking file to same printer before you and it will take 10 minutes for that crap to print, thus totally screwing your plans lol that's 3.

When I was in college, people would print literally a hundred plus pages at the library printer and I would have to wait 10 minutes to print one **** page

Indeed. The way slappy wrote it, it would read "BEST rum and cokes or jack, and cokes or gin and tonics"

Lololol yea it would read like that if you were an alien from another planet who did not know that "jack and coke" is the compound name of the drink, and instead decided to be intentionally obtuse by reading it your way.

The poor use of the "/" annoyed me way more than someone saying that one bar makes simple mixed drinks better than others. I have gotten jack and cokes with too much whiskey or too much soda, or the coke was watered down or flat. Of course if the drinks are made correctly, then no bar can make them better if all ingredients are equal, which makes it a dumb review. Without the grammar issue the review wouldn't overly annoy me enough to think twice about it, though.
