We have gone through slack, teams, and one other one in the last hmmm...6 to 9 months I'd say...I think we've landed back on teams...

Teams is the most well-rounded, I just hate the GUI because it’s trash.

I also feel like our part of the business (engineers) love using slack for everything. Other parts use Teams, but any company wide stuff or stuff outside our group is through Teams.

Why does every single thing "bad" need a -strong behind it. Seniors are losing a school year, so we gotta be Class of 2020-strong.

Amen brother.

You are facing no hardship by not having a prom or a walking ceremony.

I did see something on Facebook that kind of brought levity to the situation.

"You may be missing your activities for senior year while being at home safe, seniors in the 70s we're getting a free trip to Vietnam that they wouldn't come home from."

Meh these are 17 & 18 year old kids. 10 years from now they won't give a sht but senior prom might be the biggest thing they've looked forward to so far. And missing their last season of baseball/track/softball or whatever would suck if I was in their shoes.

Saw the parent of a kid doing this, btw. Not actually the kid. I think it does suck, it's a sad situation, but when you put strong next to it, you enter things like "boston-strong" or whatever tragic event started it.

You're telling me you missing prom is as important as the people that died in that bombing?

I didn't go to prom, my graduation, etc. I don't think I attended a single school related event after the 7th grade.

I definitely didn't miss out on anything, but I also wasn't the typical kid.

Well I don't think anyone is making that comparison are they?

For the record putting strong after everything is dumb, just like every controversy has to be -gate now. But I'd like to think they're not comparing themselves to tragedies like that

I think the second you put -strong to something, I ultimately compare it to the marathon bombings. I just think it's a dumb thing that's overused for the dumbest inconveniences.

Sorry that you lost a year of track, but the guy that lost his legs had it way worse.

So did the guy that lost his legs, they made that movie - but I'd bet 100% they wish they still had their legs.

more tv annoyances

PTI has still been "recording" episodes since the quarantine started but it's lumped in with Sportscenter programming. It's only shown once per day and the only way to watch it is either catch it at 5:30 or record the 5PM sportscenter. There's no re-airings and no way to watch it on demand

I skipped my Associates, Bachelors, and Masters ceremonies knowing that they were not terminal degrees. I'm a little salty that my doctorate got blown up by this ****.

My school is doing a virtual graduation. Have the regalia shipped to us and then on May 17th they're all going to trade pictures and videos.
No thanks.

my graduation present to myself for my bachelor's was sleeping in and not going to the ceremony. I would've done the same for high school if I didn't have to do a speech

Also, I only went to prom because a girl asked me.

You read a tweet on Twitter and see "A thread 1/11" then ten other tweets that are reply to each other to finish their thought. Twitter wasn't meant for those kind of posts, start an old fashioned blog/website or Facebook or something.
