Sigh... cut Ben. Let them find out 100% Rudolph isn’t the guy, tank for who knows what QB. Cry.
Pretty much.

Tough sledding for Sarrett. Asked to step up and replace the best offensive line coach in the league right as the veterans on the line turn to dog ****.

All of this was about one month too late.

And not enough. Butler should be gone.

Also, if Sarrett is the one that sat Dotson then this is well earned.

Personnel decisions like that would come from the coordinator and head coach. As for your first point, this is one way to ruin a good thing:

I have less of an issue with Butler. A new year-to-year contract, fine. I thought they performed well despite the injuries.

It's the Steelers. They're just going to promote Canada.

Ending the season giving up 72 to the Browns over 2 weeks is a small but not insignificant sample.

Guess it's a done deal then. That was quick. At least they didn't waste money on a Korn Ferry search.

This is a good point. I have a hard time interpreting how the end of the season makes me feel about the D overall

I don't have that big of an issue keeping Butler around.

I've never liked Butler, so these last 7 games are just affirmation for me. But then that requires a bit of dissonance because the defense was lights out the first 11 and I gave the players, not Butler, credit.

This is an asterisk season in a lot of ways so it's tough to say. But if it means flushing Butler out I'm okay with it.

Also we don't need to worry about the qb of the future because it is obviously Nate Peterman.

I mean........ I would hope it's already pretty obvious that Rudolph 100% isn't the guy. My advocacy for moving to him isn't out of an abundance of optimism about their prospects with him driving the offense. Sort of the opposite, actually.

Hate to say it, but they need a year or two of....... how to put this......... high draft picks. It looks like the Jets winning a few games late has taken the Sam Darnold piece off the trade board (which makes me sad), and they have like 2 dozen free agents this offseason.

The Steelers are out of phase with the rest of the AFC North. I fear as a fanbase we're heading into a pretty dark era.
