It's really interesting to finally get his side of the story. I wouldn't call that a good read, though. There's a reason non-writers use ghostwriters. That was brutal. It's a good story told very poorly.

Side note: I had no idea this wasn't true. A few years back I was in the park celebrating my nephew's birthday and somebody said, "See that street over there? That's where Kordell got caught."

No. The rumors were unfounded and started by a police officer, and much of it touched on how he was treated pre and post-rumor and how he dealt with that.

And nocera, I call it a "good read" as in eye-opening/learning new info, not that the way the material is presented is good.

I hadn't thought of it for years until I was in Schenley and the street was pointed out to me as the place he got caught. I had believed it since 98 so it didn't even occur to me to check into the validity of it. If that rumor came out now, it'd be squashed pretty quickly.

Yup, even in Altoona I remember that rumor going around like crazy in junior high school.
