What has Colbert done? Really?

Kornheiser with a reasonable take though.

Not that I think either is possible at this stage, but of the two options I think it's more likely that Ben would retire than go to another team. Not because I doubt he believes he has one more productive season in him, it's that I don't think there's a market for him. So if he's cut (unlikely at this point) I think it will be a you-can't-fire-me-I-quit type of thing.

I don't know how much credit the GM gets for drafting, but they've been consistently solid in that department under him. (Off the top of my head, I can only think of two outright busts under his tenure [Jarvis Jones and Artie Burns]) He also engineered the trades for Minkah and Haden.

if you're in charge of 22 rosters and 1 of them had a losing season you are good at your job imo

I was unaware that Ben’s “veteran Wednesday” treatment meant he didn’t even show up to the facility. I thought he was getting the day off from practice, not the day off from team meetings, film sessions, etc. That’s some lazy ass bullshit.

Do other older QBs do the same thing?

Older QBs either aren’t good enough to get special treatment or are study session psychos like Brady, Manning, and Rivers, so I doubt it.

Do you think that fckface that just won another superb owl is taking days off?

During the skins-bucs wild card game, the broadcast crew shared this story:

When was the last time Ben showed up at 5 am for anything

Ok so maybe that fckface is taking days off

But his work ethic is night and day compared to Ben and i dont think that is up for debate

Edit: Rivers probably has to take time off to manage the schedule of his 19 kids

Work ethic and discipline - meaning their complete absence - are reasons why I'm not keen for the Steelers to head into 2021 with a 39-year old Ben. Don't leave up to him and his good graces. Cut him. Move on. Make it up as you go if you have to. I already have zero optimism about the coming season as it is.

Cam Heyward restructured his contract:
But Monday, the Steelers made a move of a different kind to create some cap space, restructuring the contract of defensive tackle Cam Heyward. The move, first reported by Ian Rapoport, creates an additional $7 million in cap space by converting a portion of Heyward's $4.5 million base salary and a $6 million roster bonus he was due into signing bonus.

The NFL cap system is such a convoluted mess.

I don't really understand it as I don't follow that closely.

What really confuses me is when a player is traded away and the cap hit stays with the old team. I think Philly is on the hook for some ridiculous dead cap amount for Wentz.

It’s the damn off-season. He could have left Cheetos dust on someone because he didn’t wash his hands and it would be a story, “Tomlin’s COVID cleanliness called into question over spicy snack.”
