I think without the bias, it still speaks negative on Tomlin. Perfectly above-average regular season coach. OK to below-average playoff coach."lost to aaron rodgers and the 6 seed packers" aka the SUPER BOWL man that is a biased graphic lol

losing in the super bowl is not a negative attribute for a coach this is treading into weird territory

oh unless you mean the entire thing - yeah, maybe. I'd call him okay at the end of the day. Lately he certainly hasn't been good but the first half of his career was very very good

Cowher was considered the same type of coach. Great regular season, OK playoffs. Is there something different about coaching in the playoffs? Do coaches need to come up with different schemes, prepare better for the other team, be more of a cheerleader for their players? Asking honestly here, because I do notice the same thing regarding Tomlin (and Cowher to a lesser extent) and don't know what it is about the playoffs that spooks the Steelers.
It would be one thing if they kept getting in as the 3/4 seed and eventually losing to 1/2 seeds but too many times they are losing at home/as favorites.

It's hard to win in the playoffs. No one besides Belichick really has a *good* record. I was surprised to see Ben was 13-8 in the postseason before yesterday and was really the most successful postseason guy outside of brady (30-11 like zoinks scoob). Rodgers was 10-8 and Brees was 8-8

Tomlin is 8-7. Sean Payton is 8-7. Reid is 15-14. Carroll is 11-9. Cowher was 12-9. John Harbaugh is 10-7. Nature of the beast imo. Then there's Belichick at 31-12

Please refer to him as "Medal of Freedom recipient Bill Belichick." Thank you.

I was basing it on the entire portfolio. He doesn't have a gleaming track record in the playoffs. Superbowls included.oh unless you mean the entire thing - yeah, maybe. I'd call him okay at the end of the day. Lately he certainly hasn't been good but the first half of his career was very very good

Would be interesting to see those splits as favorites/dogs or home/away.

No he isn't, and at this stage it isn't even really that close. That's not a comment about how highly I regard Rudolph (I don't), it is a recognition that the Steelers can pay him $4 million a year, or pay Ben ten times that and get not dissimilar levels of production.2021 Ben is better than Mason.
They need to move on from the "win now" fever dream; this is not a championship team, and they have close to 20 free agents this offseason. They're firmly into the Bubby Brister years now.
The team has only won multiple playoff games in the same post-season once since last playing the Superb Owl. And remember, that period covers the years they had Ben, AB, and Bell; they were loaded on offense, and they collected 3 total playoff wins to show for it. Tomlin did an outstanding job to keep this team competitive last year, but the simple fact remains that he's just dreadful at preparing teams for games that matter.

I didn't say his contract was more valuable. I said he is a better QB

Steelers facility now shut-down to COVID. Glad it waited until the season was over.

It's also shut down due to the Browns knocking then out of the playoffs

I wonder if Travis Etienne will be available at #24

Etienne is a beast but would also be a luxury at this point. Too many holes on this team to "waste" a pick on an RB.

He also struggled down the stretch with Clemson's degrading OL.

Etienne will be there but so will Najee Harris who I'd rather have. But as ktk said I don't think it's a luxury the stillers have

RB is the last position I would draft, IMO. I think you can take “Random RB from ABC U” and get good production. It’s all driven by the line.

And this line sucks.

Yeah. My draft need power ranking goes something like
QB
OL
DL
RB
LB
I feel like there's a better chance at hitting on OL at 24 than QB. Wonder if they like Trey Lance enough to trade up if he's there around 18-20..

Cam and Tuitt are fine still. But they're gonna get old quick, soon imo

Hey, Taylor Heinicke didn't look horrible the other night.

The only time I remember the names "Cameron Heyward" and "Stephon Tuitt" being spoken last night was when Cris Collinsworth asked Al Michaels if he had said the names "Cameron Heyward" or "Stephon Tuitt" at all during the game.

They can only operate when the edgers get loose and make havoc. That....didn’t happen. The only time I remember the names "Cameron Heyward" and "Stephon Tuitt" being spoken last night was when Cris Collinsworth asked Al Michaels if he had said the names "Cameron Heyward" or "Stephon Tuitt" at all during the game.

They had a bad night. Curious who actually had a good night? Juju, Claypool and Diontae? Anyone else? Woof
