Kansas mom loses custody of son, 11, after he gives marijuana speech

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/kansas-mom- ... ana-speech
Banda is the author of a book "Live Free or Die: Reclaim your Life . . . Reclaim your Country!" that recounts her use of a concentrated cannabis oil to treat Crohn's Disease.

A gag order has since been issued in the custody case, Banda said. Her attorney, Sarah Swain, did not respond to a phone message left at her office.

Banda's legal problems began March 24 when police were called to her son's school for a child welfare check following a drug and alcohol presentation. Investigators allege the boy told school officials that his mother and other adults in his home were avid drug users and that there was a lot of drug use occurring at the home.

According to an online page to raise money for Banda's legal defense, Banda's son "disagreed with some of the anti-pot points that were being made by school officials." The page has raised more than $27,000.

Banda refused to allow officers to search the home, and police stayed at the scene and denied her entry to it until they could obtain a search warrant.

i think the we'll see marijuana taken off of the schedule 1 list by the end of the obama administration. i'm not sure what practical effect that will have though.

2016 will also see arizona, nevada, california, and at least 1 new england state fully legalize.

and i think there will be legalized, non-psychoactive CBD strains in almost every state, which will, most famously, help children with epilepsy

but those states in the hillbilly belt will still be turning their own citizens into criminals for years and years to come. i don't see any real progress coming in the south.

Yeah, but that's arguably the most flaccid MMJ policy in the country. Very limited list of conditions and low-THC strains only.

This is Georgia trying to get ahead of the curve by implementing a joke policy before getting pressured to do something more reasonable.

Speaking of flaccid MMJ policy...

Very few in NJ have hope of getting a green card. It'll change with the next governor. But for the next couple years it's a bunch of garbage. Christie's misguided efforts at building his brand have caused jersey to act against its own will. The voters in jersey want it. The faux ideological a hole in charge doesn't.

I don't smoke weed anymore and have zero interest, even though I believe in legalization of all drugs. On the bright side, I could theoretically buy crack and heroin a few blocks from here. I just can't imagine why there are shootings....

I would say because they feel they have to. A lot of those people had their fathers/ uncles in da game and it gets passed down. Families hate eachother because generations earlier their great grandfather had his knickers stolen by a family and feuds start

This guy legally changed his name to NJ Weedman and then tried to run for Congress.

I can honestly say I don't think I'd try it even if it was legal. Just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do, ya know?

when it's legal, it's your prerogative not to try it, but it might behoove you to look into it a little before making up your mind. the traditional reasons for it being not "a smart thing to do" are all either completely false or don't apply to adults using it responsibly.

just for discussion sake, are there any specific concerns you have?

I know that even if it were legal, I would probably never do it.

It should 100% be legalized.
