Well, yea - which is why I said they gotta get rid of these stupid sideline runs and shotgun runs. If they're going to do that all year/next year, he's not the right back, imo.I disagree. He (and quite frankly any RB) needs to be able to get going before they can run through arm tackles. He doesn’t have the time or space to get it going downhill. He literally needs enough time to get one or two more steps in then he will break more tackles. He can do it. We know he can. We’ve seen it. It doesn’t go away overnightI would settle for a guy that can stay up past 2 yards after getting touched. Conner for whatever reason, can't consistently run through tackles like he could before, and if you're a power back that can't do that, well, there isn't much time left in the NFL.Not me. The difference between the number 10 RB in the league and the number 50 is too small for me to give ****. Conner is just fine.

This game was a systemic ass kicking. I kind of felt bad for burrow by the end of the game as it was open season on him. Not sure why the bungles didn't run the ball more...it cost them some points. Derek watt is useless as a fullback.

**** Joe Burrow. But yes, he will be good.
Watching Ben work playground style is very relaxing. He just does his thing.

Even mrs meow noticed Ben playing backyard football. Those long pass he had were literal huck it, chuck it plays.

Ben has what 17 touchdowns and 4 interceptions all year? and 3 of those four were basically throw-aways?

Yeah O-lines make a RB imo. Of course there are generational talents but if Mike Shannahan proved anything it’s that you can put just about any back behind a good line and get production. Not me. The difference between the number 10 RB in the league and the number 50 is too small for me to give ****. Conner is just fine.
IMO again though the Steelers should adapt the New Orleans “running game” of the past with quick short passes to the backs in space and let them make a play. The O-line just isn’t built for a traditional run game any longer.

I agree that the OL is probably the main issue with the running game, but a quicker back would suit the Steelers well. They need somebody to hit the line with speed.
Funny because 3 years ago it was the perfect OL for Lev B and his delayed attack approach. Time is undefeated tho.
Regarding the WR's, I'm starting to notice that the Steelers are feeling out who the weak CB is each game. Once they find out who it is, they target him and that's your WR1. Each of Claypool, DJ and JJSS have had monster games and this is why.

Yup. I agree--I hate the east-west stuff. Conner has been at his best running between the tackles.Too much side to side run plays. Tunch and Wolf were harping a lot about guys missing blocks, DeCastro pulling too slowly and not getting out in front of the runner, missed assignments, etc etc. DeCastro is a stud but I wonder about his injuries this year because the run game was better with Dotson at RG.Conner isn't a pro bowler but I think the running game issues are more on the shoulders of the OL

Everyone calling JuJu an Not#1....... are y'all aware he's on pace to have 95-100 rec and 900 - 1000 yds?

I get that. And for clarification, I think he is a #1, but I definitely see the argument that he isn’t.Everyone calling JuJu an Not#1....... are y'all aware he's on pace to have 95-100 rec and 900 - 1000 yds?
I’m way more comfortable talking hockey with this kind of stuff. I guess it depends on what you think it takes to be a #1

Is JuJu worth the mega money someone will surely pay him in FA? No way. Is he worth the mega money the Steelers would need to pay him to retain him long-term? With the way they draft WRs? Not really.

This is hyperbole and not the best example, but does anyone, under any circumstance, ever see Juju making a catch like Hopkins made this weekend at the end of that Bills/Cards game? Juju can't make those plays.

Different perspective. Same scenario. Should the Steelers be paying any WRs anything after Ben retires?

I'm talking about it in terms of where he fits on this roster. Given the complementary pieces around him right now, JuJu is a clear and effective #1 for this team. They don't need 'elite'; they had elite at the position for 7 years and won like 3 total playoff games.

1,000 yards would have been good for WR #30 last year

#1 WRs are like #1 defensemen in that there’s like five of them. Everyone else has limitations to work around. JuJu doesn’t have breakaway speed and has trouble fighting off double teams (he also fumbles at the worst times), but in single coverage or crossing routes he’s damn good and damn reliable. However, he’s never gonna get paid (or at least should never get paid) like AJ Green or Larry Fitzgerald or Julio Jones.

Like I said, I don't care how his numbers stack up against anyone else. I'm talking purely from the perspective of the role he fills on this team this season. He's the clear #1 and it's not even close, and I'm perfectly happy with that.

Statistically it's pretty close between Claypool and JuJu already. JuJu has him on catches, but only beats him by 16 yards. Claypool also has two more touchdowns.Like I said, I don't care how his numbers stack up against anyone else. I'm talking purely from the perspective of the role he fills on this team this season.
