I've seen a lot of good discourse here and have changed my own views on a number of issues after considering well reasoned points of view.

I've seen a lot of good discourse here and have changed my own views on a number of issues after considering well reasoned points of view. Intermixed with that have been a couple of door stops that we have to work around to have any kind of meaningful conversation. I'm more inclined to unplug than put up walls.

The comment I made was in direct response to FR saying he is unaffected by thoughts and criticisms by others. His exact words were "I don't give a hoot about it." That's a pretty stark admission that he doesn't absorb other viewpoints and is incapable of reflecting on them in a meaningful way. It is a death knell for discourse and accurately describes how he carries himself. He's proud of it and I have no qualms about expressing my observation. Trump, nobody, FR are all of that same mindset that is so dangerous to progress.

As for your opinion of me, you're entitled to it but I'd wager it's not popularly held.
How did you pass law school if that's what you thought that is what I meant by that? Talk about seeing something you want to see.

It was pretty obviously referring to the personal attacks and passive aggressive haughtiness that gets passed off as argument. That is what "I don't give a hoot about".

Me, nobody, shad, NP (RIP), Guinness (RIP) get reemed and personally attacked constantly in these threads.

I don't give a hoot about it. This isn't a place to think anyone in here cares that much to make anything personal to begin with.

Your complete body of work says otherwise. The 'hoot' comment was just the one that finally made me realize what's actually going on. From what I've seen of my PM box I'm the last to realize it.

Most of the posters here work towards something. You guys seem to just dig your feet in and endlessly defend an ideology with no regard for particulars. I'm just not interested in it anymore. Which works out for both of us, you can posts your tweets unchallenged and I can scroll past them. I'm happy to leave it at that.

So, you admit that you didn't read it in context, made your own truth about it, and then falsely attributed things because...reasons.

You be you, not going to affect me on any level, which again is what the "hoot" comment was about.

It's almost like dissenting voices and opinions need to be silenced through mockery and shaming. There's no place for an open discussion, let alone a difference of opinion. Ignore the substance of what is being presented, and instead attack the integrity or intelligence of the people disagreeing with you.

Just want to highlight this. People disagreeing with you is not censorship, I know that you have some anecdotes in your back pocket of college kids yelling about Charles Murray or something. But this application of that talking point is so tired.
