I guess mine was more directed to TL's "mentally configure" line.

Up in the arms isn't the right term. I guess I should have said why even waste time to wonder or discuss what he says.

It is entertaining.

I'm still trying to figure out why get up in arms over what Trump says. None of it is a surprise, none.
Because he's the POTUS and it's embarrassing? It makes our country look bad? He's a piece of garbage and spews crap on a daily basis that his supporters eat up and it makes our country worse off because of it.

Fun Question.

Could Trump run in 2024 to get his second term?

There’s a touch of “He’s the President and doesn’t understand the basics” that annoys me.

He could try. I think he'd be too afraid of losing twice in a row that he wouldn't do it

Yeah, it's over. They can push for recounts, etc, but it won't change the result.

Biden winning Wisconsin and Michigan pretty much killed a Trump victory.

Because I am thinking about the sort of legal challenges that could alter the election result. At this point, it appears that the results could go into a recount territory, and should the court side with Trump on the disqualification of certain ballots, then the results could flip.

I am not surprised or concerned about what Trump says, I am concerned about what Trump does and I am concerned that administrative problems could impact whether the mail in votes are counted. Like, what if Butler county mishandled those 14K mail in votes and the court agrees and says that they should be rejected?

The other depressing thing: regardless of the results, the country will continue to be insanely divisive.

Oddly, Fox is the outlet I’ve seen that has called AZ.

He just doesn't understand how counting works.
Yes he does, he's attempting to muddy the waters.

He's going to sue the voters, too. And the ballot boxes. And possibly clocks.

That's probably my biggest takeaway from this entire thing. Somehow, someway, Trump manages to speak to and appeal to a huge portion of this country despite being a huge piece of **** and a garbage hypocrite of a person. If alive, I can easily see him running in 2024 and being favored to win. Beyond that, on a national level Democrats need to figure out how to appeal to a broader portion of the country. They might eke this one out, but the unsubstantiated cries of socialism is an obvious negative for a lot of the rust belters they are trying to win back. They are a major demographic shift from a progressive agenda having a broad national appeal and trying to hammer things through in a Biden/Harris administration will likely be viewed negatively.

If he's not in state prison by then.

You'll always have some sort of divide. In a country of 300 million people, not everyone is going to have the same view.

As long as Biden doesn't start going all ultra lib and leaning towards the "squad" type policies, which there is absolutely no evidence he will, then I think after the dust settles, you'll see a bunch of conservatives that are more moderate continue on with their lives.

You will have the Proud Boys type Trump people freaking out, but again, it's no different than some of the ultra left groups doing what they do.

At the end of the day, I think you'll have a lot less drama because you won't have a president on twitter everyday stoking the flames and the lib media will be happy overall so you won't see as many divisive stories. I actually think this may calm some things down.

I'm not even going to try and think about 2024 yet. WIth any luck, Trump will be in prison by then.

There is some cognitive dissonance there.

If the SDNY is going to nail him. why are people worried about the Trump run in 2024, or his family running?

This is a good 8 minute take on Trump's appeal and why he's attractive because of his flaws, not in spite of them.
