I have stomped at least two or three of them outside of my office on every work day for over a month now. They seem to be attracted to the windows, so there's always a bunch of them on the sidewalk around Gateway Center. I've probably stomped close to a hundred by now.
I've found they're easier to stomp if you come at them head-on. They mostly try to jump/fly straight forward when spooked, and that means they usually just hit the bottom of my shoe on its way down and get crushed anyway.

Just executed my first lanternfly on a building at work. They are pretty bugs - first one I've seen.

There are dozens upon dozens of lantern flies crawling all over the Sewickley Bridge. Hundreds probably. Just moseying along the barrier between tbe road and sidewalk.
