If Chris Simms knows about anything, it's good quarterbacking

He’s seen enough of it from the bench to know it when he sees it.

Steelers and Ravens will be wearing masks on the field of play on Thanksgiving night...as of now.

Simms take was dumb enough that Joe Mangianello stepped into the arena too.

I would love to watch a Steelers game with he and Michael Keaton.

My son did a 90 minute soccer practice/scrimmage last night with a mask on. He's used to wearing one all day at school twice a week, but this was different and not pleasant. Granted, football players do a lot more standing around than a soccer player...

Has there been a confirmed situation where a heavily tested (i.e. college or pro) football player has gotten sick from an opposing team?

I can't imagine wearing a mask while doing any sort of physical activity is very pleasant. Here's my thing, though, if you truly want athletes to wear masks at all levels, you HAVE to make the pros wear it. Kids see that. They take their cues from the pros.

That said, I highly highly doubt the Steelers or Ravens will be wearing masks while on the field. I don't really know how I feel about it personally. These guys are tested daily and there has yet to be a case that can be tracked to on-field transmission. I definitely understand both sides of the argument on this one.

While I agree they should wear masks at all levels if they're going to play; the difference for the pros for me is that they're getting something tangible from the risk they're taking in the form of a paycheck. Everyone below them is doing it for other people (to make money for the college football industry, community, etc.) to a large extent.

They'll probably all wear shields vs masks right?

Except Ben? Or anyone else that has to call out signals that need to be heard.

They're going to be choking on mouthguards left and right. Could be fun but will slow down the game pace.

I don't think the plexiglass shields are soundproof

It would be fun to watch a game with Joe, if only because it means that Mrs Joe might be in attendance as well.

For some reason Derek Watt was a suggested friend of Facebook so I scrolled through his wall for a moment. It's full of people in their #90 jerseys telling him what big fans they are. Poor guy...

Pitt and Virginia Tech are currently playing at Heinz. They are not wearing masks and they mentioned at the start that the governor’s office confirmed the players were exempt.

Shefter confirmed yesterday that they don’t have to wear masks on the field of play. I think they have to on the sidelines, though.

That’s not happening at the Pitt game.

I don't know who guards Tyreek Hill but if they can keep him in check I think they'll get enough pressure on Mahomes to not let up a million points which is what it'll take to beat the Steelers. Fingers crossed
Man, it’s going to be a good game when/if they meet in the playoffs. You can say Tyreek or Kelcie. The truth is Mahomes. He reminds me of a more refined Michael Vick without the need/want to tuck it and run. So mobile, great vision, great arm, keeps himself safe. If the Steelers play prevent they’ll get eaten up. IMO committing to pressuring him is the best option. He’ll be good regardless, but a forced fumble, constant knockdowns, and sacks can wear anyone down.

It's like they spent a decade building a defense to stop NE but now that it's assembled I think it's close enough to being KC's antidote as well. Would feel a lot better with Bush. But I think we'll get to see in two months

Yup. Playing prevent with one LB spying the QB ain't gonna cut it.

I think the key to a PIT-KC matchup will be how much pressure the Steelers can bring up the middle. Watt and Dupree are good enough athletes to contain the edges, so it will be crucial to bring the thunder straight up the gut imo. No one (League-wide, really) has the speed to cover Hill on those slow-developing deep routes the Chiefs love so much, so the only way they can really limit him is to prevent Mahomes' ability to actually deliver the ball.

The KC offensive line is Charmin soft in pass protection right now. It's why you see them running the ball more often to try to keep defenses from bring too much heat on pass blitzes. Not sure who KC might get back before the playoffs, but the Chiefs have had a horrible time giving Mahomes the time to develop those deep routes even with their speed.
