Really not a fan of Steelers players congratulating and smiling with Myles Garrett. Guess they forgot that he alleged racial slurs against their QB. I'd spike that mf'er in the kneepad.
It means more the fans and media than it does the players.
Same for Juju dancing on logos. No one in this league really gives two sh*ts about it. The fans care, the media cares because the fans care, but the players? Nah... they don’t give a **** about the logo of the team that they’re going to leave for greener pastures when they become a free agent.
Guy that hit Juju, before the Cinci game:

The Bills on Juju:

Of course, this discussion is taking place on a penguins website. The same penguins team that forbids anyone from touching the logo in their locker room.

Yes... and? Like I said, it's fans and media driven. That's what fans want to hear. They eat that sh*t up.

Steelers/Browns is SNF next week.
Are you **** serious?
Really annoyed... Was looking forward to watching with our daughter. And not being exhausted and stressed Monday morning.
Same. SNF is what I watch when I want to fall asleep, I hate it when my team is on there. Particularly given that Monday is the only day of the week I work in the city. It's just a crap slot, you'd think they would've given it to a west coast matchup.

So when the players bring it up in a pregame huddle, is that for the media and fans? When that guy on Dallas took a 15 yard penalty trying to keep Juju from his shenanigans, was he doing it for the media and fans?

I do ultimately agree that players care far less about logos and the franchise than fans do. I do agree that they don't view rivalries the same way fans do. But players are motivated by shenanigans and nonsense. If they weren't motivated by it, they wouldn't take penalties or bring it up in pregame speeches.

players care. they act like they care. and they do. cleat a terrible towel into the sod and see what happens to your team. at least according to the players. it's dumb but motivation is important even if manufactured

Oldest rivalry, I think in the AFC, and only divisional matchup in the first round outside Rams/Seahawks. Rams vs Seahawks isn't going to get the eyeballs Steelers vs Browns will get.

It was a slam dunk for a night game.

I don't think at this level they need motivation to get out there and get hyped up. For the bengals hit on Juju... do you honestly think a safety coming down on a WR during a crossing pattern took the time to realize who it was and said "Oh man... I gotta make a big hit here to prove a point?" Or are they just a safety coming down on a WR during a crossing pattern and they're going to make that big hit anyways? I'm inclined to think the latter.

Also, you don't think these players have agents telling them that they should hype this stuff up? They get all sorts of press that way, become fan favorites that way. It's all part of the theater of the sport.

Would have rather had it been Saturday night. Instead that game is the TB TB's curbstomping the WFT.

Me too, but biggest attraction of the Wildcard Round.

My guess is there is some looking ahead to next weekend as well.

If you go chalk, I expect schedule to be:

Saturday 4:30 - Tennessee at Kansas City
Saturday 8:15 - Tampa at Green Bay

Sunday 1:00 - Pittsburgh at Buffalo
Sunday 4:30 - Seattle at New Orleans

Titans-Ravens is bigger :ducks: Ravens trying to redeem themselves against the team that upset them from their appointed throne.
Browns barely beat a Steelers team sitting it's most important starters at home.

No need to duck - I agree with you, namely because of last season. Also, it's the **** Browns.

Draft Trask at 32 and pull another OL rabbit out of the hat in round 2 or 3 like this and we're back in business for a while

Claypool is going to be great, but I'm a little concerned about what happened to his scoring production after mid-season. Through 8 games, he had 7 total TDs, but finished the year with only 11. Granted, he can only catch it if it's thrown to him (or handed off to him), but the play calling just seemed to exclude him for like 5 or 6 games there down the stretch. Obviously he had a big game @CLE to close the book on his rookie year, but that's something that didn't sit right with me as the games were unfolding. I'd like to know if that was a by-product of bad habits in practice, fatigue, poor QB play, worse play calling, etc.

Too bad the guy they traded that first for was invisible at the end of the season.

Hit the rookie wall and teams got tape on him.

Think it was a combo of Ben being sht, fatigue, and being on a snap count to prevent more fatigue. I expect to see him more involved in the playoffs

I figured it was a combination of that stuff, I just didn't remember reading/hearing anything about it so I was curious.

And I think he had 10 TDs through 10 games before we turned to poop.

Omar Khan, the Steelers cap guru and assistant or associate GM, interviewed for the Texans GM position yesterday, fwiw.
