How much moola did you spend on the espresso machine

I went the cheap avenue and got a moka pot. moka pot is the pitt of espresso. good enough, but not serious to compete with the big boys

I had a breville one that ground it’s own beans. It was amazing just got to be a pain. Use a breville nespresso now with a froth wand built in which is much easier

I don't drink espresso or espresso based drinks enough to warrant the purchase of a machine. Plus, some of our local places make great lattes, so I just go there when needed.

Now my morning coffee on the other hand. Got myself a nice ninja conical bean hopper (#4 filters). Has a few presets, but really like the coffee it puts out. I like the Counter Culture whole bean stuff. I just look at Apollo, Hologram, and Forty Six and which ever has the most recent roast date, I go with it.

Talk per pound or go home. I wouldn't pay more than $8/lb or so.

I have a grinder (heh) and I agree. Tastes great but just a pain to do each time so I find myself just using my Keurig more often than the espresso machine or french press

For the French Pressers, do you grind all the beans in the bag at once, or do you go day by day?

I've also resorted to using the 1.1lb bags of the coffee I drink instead of the larger ones because it's much easier to keep them fresher. There's a notable decline in quality after the first 2 weeks with the larger bags, and this is having them stored in a tight-sealed container in a cabinet.

I would love to buy an espresso machine, but I don't think I'd use it enough to justify the price tag.

I actually realized just now, how much I would use it now with indefinite WFH. Buying one today, going to say it's an anniversary present for my wife.

We have Original and Vertuo machines. Love them both. Reinforces that K-Cups are absolute swill. Their Black Friday sales the past two years have been better than their internal employee discount, so I would take a look at them then.

I got a French press in March, because what else was I gonna do with my extra morning time. I tend to get a bag of whole bean (usually what’s on sale between Pete’s, Starbucks, or something else) and grind it in store to use it home. I know I should get a grinder. What else am I doing wrong?
