For those that don't have Twitter, posting the following from Jim Hammett at Panther Lair, at Narduzzi's press conference today:
"Yea it's safe to say," on whether Pickett came back to work next year with Mark Whipple.

Horton didn't look bad. Nice to see some secondary scoring. I know Miami was shorthanded but conference wins are conference wins

YEs it was a tight game at the half but it isn't all that often that pitt runs away from a team in the second half of a conference game like that. so i'll take it

Have to admit I was glad to see Kenneth Shane Pickett announce his return. He's not Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence, but he's also proven contributor, which is saying something because he's been stuck for his entire career in an offense rendered one-dimensional thanks to crappy o-line play. Pickett still has accuracy issues on certain routes and an annoying tendency to throw as hard as he can more often than he probably should. But maybe things improve in 2021 for a few reasons:

First, the offense as a whole got...better? Maybe? That's what I took most from three of the last four games of the season. I know you can't just throw out the Clemson game but in the context of this team having to win games it should win if it's ever going to become a consistent ACC contender, I'm mostly throwing out the Clemson game.

The offense produced better and more balanced results against FSU, VT, and GT. In those wins, Pitt averaged 475 yds/game and 6.05 yds/play, which is Top 20-25 offense territory. I don't think it's any coincidence that this came with o-line changes, particularly getting Goncalves into the lineup. The running game was noticeably better against FSU & VT, great against GT. None of those teams were good but again, this is about winning games you should win.

I also think Pickett will have the deepest WR corps of his career next year. Addison is the best all-around receiver Pitt has had since Tyler Boyd. DJ Turner established himself as a weapon & is at least mulling over the idea of returning. Wayne, Barden, Shocky, and Mack will challenge for the other spots.

TE is a lost cause until proven otherwise but at least the season closed with a little bit of evidence that the offense is improving.

Yeah, I thought the offense actually was good down the stretch. Clemson game was a wet fart but whatever. The run game actually improved with some OL personnel changes and I'm somewhat optimistic that it will be an okay run game at least next year. If another CB steps up alongside Mathis I'm feeling good about this team. Oh, and the OOC schedule is easy with a nice chance for a "good win" over a Tennessee team that will probably start out in the top 25 and fall to 4-8.

Taysir Mack can kick rocks. Dude got worse every year at Pitt and somehow ended up on the Tre Tipton 8 year plan.

Gonsalves was a revelation.

Which QB's do you think transfer?

My money is on Yellen and Patti.

Beville. I think Yellen is next in line so not sure why he'd transfer. Unless Yarnell comes in and looks great

I watched him when they played Clemson. He had a couple of fumbles and got clobbered. He couldn’t stop shaking uncontrollably on the sideline for the rest of the game. It was rough to watch, but evidently he was just cold and couldn’t get warm.

Question for the newsgroup:

Is Kenneth Shane Pickett the best quarterback in Pittsburgh at this very moment?

Joey Yellen and Mason Rudolph are. The backups are always the best.
