The Ocho is back today with some weird sports and I wanted to see if you guys have been watching anything old or new to get you through these times.

Aussie Rules Football was on for a couple nights this week until they shut the league down and I quite enjoyed it. Thanks to @Dickie Dunn I've also watched the final round of the 1968, 1986 and 1995 Masters.

I've seen some volley soccer game on at&t sports where girls wearing basically nothing volley back and forth over cars, on the beach, etc. It's something.

The sim racing world has exploded with a bunch of pro drivers flooding into online racing events. It's pretty cool if you cared about either sim or in person racing before this, but probably wouldn't grab you if you weren't.

On the NASCAR side:
Fox, which holds the broadcast rights to the first half of NASCAR’s season, will air Sunday’s leadoff race at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway at the same time the actual race was to have started, 1:30 p.m., on Fox Sports 1. The action also can be streamed on the Fox Sports app.

The regular Fox broadcast team of Jeff Gordon and Mike Joy will call the action, with Larry McReynolds providing analysis. NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer will play dual roles, providing “in-car” commentary as he races an iRacing simulator in the Fox Studio in Charlotte.

Now that’s some sports action.

Lando Norris, Niko Hulkenberg, Esteban Gutierrez, and Ian Poulter (no joke) are running in the Not Bahrain GP with some other drivers and YouTube Sim Racers at 2 PM.

Lando's stream:

Also lol at the Indy video calling Jimmy Broadbent, "Jimmy Punterino"

I recorded the iRacing NASCAR one and just started. Surprised how many people spend so much money on sim rigs but choose triple monitor setups instead of VR. Denny Hamlins rig is supposedly 10s of thousands of dollars and he is on triples. He also seems to have a dune buggy sized roll cage so who knows what is going on there.

I watched Essendon vs Fremantle late Friday night and it had been a good 30+ years since I had watched Aussie Rules so it took a little to remember the rules. Close game down to the end. Pity that it got suspended too because that was the last of the live events that I would have had any interest in.

Today, I watched CBS's repeats of Kansas-Memphis 2008, TTech-Virginia 2019, Nova-Carolina 2018, and UMBC-Virginia 2018. Most of it was background noise, though.

I watched dodgeball and marble racing on ESPN today. And a replay of the final round of the 2018 Valspar. Sigh

My dad gives thanks for the heads-up on the NASCAR gaming. I'll see the recording when possible. :thumb:

I watched Hidden Cup 3 on Twitch most of the weekend. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition 1v1 tournament with a $55k prize pool. Amazing that 20 year old game can pull 50k viewers.

The FS1 NASCAR Sim Racing broadcast yesterday was extremely well done. Kudos to them for getting all of that thrown together so quickly and the drivers being so willing to do it.

Denny Hamlin's rig....holy crap. @dodint that has to be a Powerball dream for you, no?

Full motion rigs are awesome. Why you would do one without going VR is completely bonkers to me.

hate to be that guy but the tackle is bad form. she's crossing her neck across body of the person she's tackling, which increases the chances of her injuring her neck

as we were taught in rugby "kiss ass, don't suck dick"
