https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-ent ... table-mainA coalition of hundreds of doctors and public health experts have called out Spotify for allowing Joe Rogan to spread “false and societally harmful assertions” about coronavirus and vaccination on the streaming platform that hosts his wildly popular podcast.
In an open letter published Monday, more than 270 medical professionals urge Spotify to stop “enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance.” Rogan, whose show reaches an estimated audience of 11 million people an episode, has repeatedly downplayed the need for coronavirus vaccines and used his platform to flirt with misinformation about covid-19.
Was it Dan quails wife that made a big deal about explicit lyrics back in the day wanted the parental warnings, and it had the opposite effect?I mean that's great and all, but that's only going to make people flock to him harder, etc. They're making money hand over fist because of this, it ain't stopping.
Limbugh and Stern allegedly has 20mm at their peak listenership but I doubt either was truly that high.11 million people an episode is **** insane.
Like morkle said, taking him off the air will only reinforce what they already think... he's out there spitting the truth and the powers that be must silence him. Unfortunately, I have zero idea how to combat it. You can show exactly how he's wrong on so many things with peer reviewed, data-based science, and the 11 million people are still not going to be convinced.https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-ent ... table-mainA coalition of hundreds of doctors and public health experts have called out Spotify for allowing Joe Rogan to spread “false and societally harmful assertions” about coronavirus and vaccination on the streaming platform that hosts his wildly popular podcast.

The challenge isn't limited to just COVID-19... it's all of life now with the internet world. You can literally make your own reality say whatever you want it to say and have it be substantiated by someone... and if you point out how ridiculous that reality is, you're somehow a sheep that's not critical about your own beliefs. It's just time to admit there are people who are lost, and we as a country need to decide to cater to them, or start pushing back on them harder than we have been.
I'm fine with a difference of opinion, but there's a point where we've gone past scientifically challenging anything, and people can just write wrong ****, put it out there, and it's accepted. Something has to be done about that, but you can't necessarily put the poop back in once it's started to come out.
Yup, that's more or less what I was referring to about the poop. Poop can literally be anything that anyone wants to believe, regardless of COVID. Society has no real long-term interest in really fighting it 24/7 - so eventually poop rises occasionally and here we are.The challenge isn't limited to just COVID-19... it's all of life now with the internet world.
