Yeah I'm sure whoever Biden replaces him with would just be beloved by the Republicans
There would be conspiracy theories and false lies about that person before they were even named and just rumored. It's a no-win situation.
Can the answer be nobody? What value is Fauci providing right now?
If the answer is nobody, nothing changes imo. GOP still points at the shadow group including Fauci controlling things behind the scenes. At some point, we're just dealing with a lost group of people that simply don't follow-along with reality.

Can we mention DeSantis without pointing at someone else yet? I feel like he's all but ignored COVID and it's wrecked his state a good bit, but you know.

At the end of the day, anyone complaining about Fauci can just **** right off. Dude has tried to do what's best for the country, and gets **** on constantly, most of the time for fake reasons. Death threats, constant hearings in the Senate, etc. He's doing a job that nobody else on earth wants right now, and hasn't turned into a raging lunatic. So again, those people can **** right off with their **** takes.

Fauci sucks. He served his purpose 18 months ago and is played out now. And you're nuts if you don't think he's jerking off in the mirror to his new found fame.

So I guess I'll just **** right off with my **** take...

Fauci's so **** great that smart people (like c2i and eddy) don't even have any **** idea what the rules and directives are regarding covid exposures, symptoms, testing, etc.

Must be too busy fielding dumb questions / pontificating about whether we should visit with our families for Easter.

Not a knock on c2i and eddy. The directives and guidance are a total cluster eff and getting worse not better.

This can go in a few threads, but I'll put it here. UPMC has started a travelling nurse program that will pay $7,000/week to help stop the poaching going on with private travelling nurse companies. That's like...that's a lot of dough

I don't really know what Fauci does behind the scenes but my vote would be to keep him behind the scenes and have somebody else in front of the media for the right to hate on and threaten. Why not make it an actor that they already hate? What's Alec Baldwin up to?

Yeah, I'm not looking up what fauci says when I have to figure out if I can send my kids to school or not. Yesterday I had the hospital/Dr office both say kids are good at least 5 days and then 24 hours with no symptoms. The school nurse yesterday said to send them back, I said no we are waiting for a test. Today she called and said they can't come back until next Thursday and to use Google classroom, but over half of my kids teachers are out with covid and haven't been able to update Google classroom.

My employer and my wife's employer started giving raises to nurses to help sway them from leaving, which has been an issue. I know a number of nurses who left to do travel nursing.

Quebec is going to tax their anti-vaxxers. The amount isn't set but the floor is about $80. They're calling it a 'health contribution.'

I'm not sure I would go that far with it here. I'd rather just stop picking up the tab for their free COVID healthcare.

Well since their government is the healthcare provider that's kinda the same thing

It’s not that much. Starting rate around 70-80/hour

The insurance companies should be doing this or they should say if not vaxxed, we won't pay the bills. A long stay in the hospital for covid will likely bankrupt you.

Was it Troy Loney that said that doesn't work because it will end up bankrupting the healthcare system?

Hospitals are strained enough. You make people pay for the care, we'll never get it. I get the thought, but it would be punishment to hospitals.
This might have been the post that has put me on a pause on banging that drum. But I'd really like to know more about how the costs for free COVID care for unvaxxed is spread around.

I assume if they have insurance then the insurance company is paying. If they don't have insurance, then what? FedGov? So we're all paying?

I'm either subsidizing it through my insurance or through federal payroll tax, right?

I always assumed covid care is funded the same way PPP and airline bailouts were funded....printed fake money from the Fed

7000*52 = $364k

It's a lot. I venture most doctors don't make that much

Edit: or are you saying my wife got bad info? I think she got it from a news reel

You don't even know what a write off is.
