That guys twitter feed is all anti-lockdown and such. I mean he can think whatever he wants obviously, but I'd agree with c2i about being able to track down and contract trace for people who go to bars/restaurants being much more difficult than most other tracing.

All this depends on who is willing to cooperate with contact tracers. There's been plenty of data shared in this thread that pinpointed bars and restaurants as spreaders in the Pittsburgh area during the late summer and fall. Most of the other categories have a listing of who is in attendance so you're not counting on individuals to comply with the tracing.

FYI, Johnson County, KS (one of few counties with enough population density to effect the numbers) currently enforces masks, early closing times, 50% capacity, table size limits, and 6' of distance or a physical barrier between tables.

"Who me? I wasn't in any bars or restaurants."

Which part of airborne transmission do people not understand?

I think, in PA, less than half of covid positive folks cooperate with tracing efforts. Muh rights, and all that. That makes it pretty much impossible to really find out where outbreaks occur as the folks who are being the most irresponsible are likely the same ones who won't answer questions.

the events this summer were when there were no restrictions on volume and distancing. nationally the data is strongly suggesting the restaurants with limited capacity are not spreading covid at a rate higher than other gatherings

It's not just the people in contact, it's also those responsible for the tracing. I told a story a few months back how my wife was in contact with somebody COVID+. Nobody contacted her for tracing purposes. Not only does she work at UPMC, she works at all the UPMC hospitals in the Pittsburgh area.

:thumb: Now hustle up and get it done.

I know hospitals have been holding folks for 15 minutes after the shot just to make sure there's no reaction. Is the same thing happening at mass vaccination sites?

I imagine this is going to be the case regardless of where you get it so that they can monitor for an allergic reaction or otherwise. We've had a few staff have bad reactions to the Pfizer vaccine (they're all fine now, but require some test and sign off before they can get their 2nd dose).

The Pirates are allowing PNC Park to be a vaccination center as well. Nutting will take a cut, I'm sure (just kidding. Maybe?)

And...? This isn’t corn that we are trying by to stockpile for a cold winter. The only correct path for the vaccine is the shortest path from the manufacturer to someone’s arm.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the point is there. Why would there be a stockpile of brand new vaccines? I'd be pretty annoyed if there was a stockpile.

The tracer who called me asked exactly 0 specific questions about where I had been.

Edit: the most specific question i got was "were you around anyone who doesn't live in your household for longer than 15 minutes without a mask"

Wasn't there a big to-do just in the last week or two about doses just sitting there in a stockpile not being distributed? So they fixed that and now we're pissed there is no stockpile?

The questionnaires are decision trees. The next question(s) depends on your previous answer.

Oh yeah - my COVID test came back from Monday. I am 'Rona free, as it was meant to be.

( I didn't think I'd had it or been near to anyone who's had it, but I was curious about the test procedure)
