Allergies really suck during covid. I'm constantly congested and have sinus headaches, but every other week I've been getting a sore, scratchy throat and each time I just wait and wonder.Do you have allergies? My allergies have been a mess this year and I rarely had issues before. After I spend a day outside or if I cut the grass, the next day is a fun game of "allergies or covid."

Right. But I thought people were saying mass testing is the way to go. The more testing the better I read on here. Testing and tracing, right?

I've heard many who have allergies say that this year has been horrendous. I do not suffer from allergies typically; however, even I've had some symptoms this year.

I haven't noticed a difference with my allergies yet. It was about the usual in the spring, but I'm most allergic to ragweed and that season won't peak until near the end of August so we shall see.

The thing with testing is that back in March and April when people were banging the drum for improved testing, I always sort of presumed that rolled up in that plea was the need to not just improve the rate of testing but also the turn around time to getting a result. A test that takes a week to deliver results is helpful in determining spread and contact tracing, but is pretty much useless as regards guiding the reopening of the economy.

I marvel at all of the different pathways trump apologists have taken to arrive at COVID acceptance. Taken as a whole, it's a wondrous piece of performance art.The thing with testing is that back in March and April when people were banging the drum for improved testing, I always sort of presumed that rolled up in that plea was the need to not just improve the rate of testing but also the turn around time to getting a result. Got an email from my university.
All students and staff that haven't already been on campus must do 10 days of quarantine before returning. We need to sign a pledge stating that we have quarantined ourselves.
Yeah, right.

The athletes here at PSU have already started testing positive... looks like our numbers will start rising here in about a month. College kids will be college kids.

Not really. It's more the achy muscles that are bothering me.Do you have allergies? My allergies have been a mess this year and I rarely had issues before. After I spend a day outside or if I cut the grass, the next day is a fun game of "allergies or covid."
My PCP got back to me. Said w/o the fever, breathing etc, to not get tested. He prescribed me tamaflu to take and said there is another bug going around that has the symptoms I'm describing. So I'm taking that. Hopefully that's all it is.

No way, really...?You have a sitting politician saying he most likely got covid from wearing a mask that was tainted, the performance art is far from over.
Edit: nevermind. Saw it in politics...Jesus...

Its going to be a nightmare in the fall when other viruses are going around. Who gets tested then? When do you quarantine and when dont you quarantine?

I was listening to KDKA the other day, around lunch time. Some idiot called in about how he tested for COVID and the test came back negative, so he doesn't have to wear a mask anymore and no one is going to make him.
The host was like "WTF, you can get it like the very next day (or anytime for that matter)".
The guy was all about his one test being negative and he will never get it because of that.

Because money? Big schools fill stadiums, smaller colleges need tuition, room and board money. My school has about 50% athletes, most of whom pay room and board and most of their tuition.
No sports, no students, no revenue.
DG66 no job.

Yep, money. I am afraid there will be a large spike when colleges resume. If I was 21 again, there would be no masks or social distancing at the frat parties. I'm sure covid is no big deal to college students.
