Interpret for me what might be concluded from "actual weekly deaths peaked earlier & thousands higher than states reported in April" and how might that impact what we see over the next few weeks?

Means we are still as a country having less and less deaths each week. Every state has seemed to peak differently, but the states that peaked earlier took a devastating hit because we didn't know how to treat it and nursing homes got obliterated.

The NY Times article isn’t saying anything that we don’t already know locally. I just thought it was interesting that it’s in the NYT.
