COVID-19

Yes. Flu and the coronavirus are both viruses. I'm glad we've been able to have this conversation.

Hey, if you want to counter anything that I specifically said, and have a discussion about it. Cool.

But I won't hold my breath.

Trip is posting intelligently, and frankly does know more than I do. mikey is demonstrating understanding of what is actually being said. You... are talking. Talking, but not saying anything.

Source of the post Your questio: If I start having breathing issues, I call my doctor if it’s me and have a low threshold for a hospital visit.
Calling your doctor is just going to result in them referring you to the ER, no? Doctors offices aren't going to put you on a ventilator.

Is that what he's saying...? He's giving very specific things about what to do to protect one's self as well...should one choose to go to the "playing doctor" method of going to the local Sambo's or Kenny Rogers Roasters...
Oh, I’m with him on glove and mask etiquette and the grocery store visits. I’m not with him on flu comparisons.
You've already conceded that you don't care to further discuss the flu or flu-like comments that you've made.

So...

I just came downstairs being done with my work from home for today. Having not left the house for much of the last two weeks, it is getting a bit... Jimmy-ish, if you get the meaning. With the stay in place stuff, today might be a good day for people to open some windows and air out.

Please don't show up at the ER if you think you have COVID.

If you need emergency care, seems like the ER would be a decent place to go. Just call ahead.

Wife and I sitting on the porch drinking some Penn marzen blasting some Motown while kids are playing street hockey, feels good

do you just call up a hospital's main line and ask to speak to the ER and say you have COVID symptoms?

That’s the end game I’m referring to here. Say you’re having trouble breathing, I’m probably calling the hospital instead of my doctor for the sake of time. I’m assuming that the doc is simply going to tell me to call the hospital, anyway.

I think this is a little extremist. If I’m having significant trouble breathing then I’m sorry, I’m going to the ER

Obviously I’m going to keep my distance from people there but “call your doctor” isn’t great advice if you think you’re dying

If it’s that bad, call 9-1-1 and the paramedics will get you. If you are a COVID ruleout, they should take you directly to the COVID unit in the hospital and the doctors will be warned before you get there.

LITT is probably better equipped to answer that question though

Yea if it’s that bad, don’t hesitate. Hospitals should be separating possible COVID patients no matter what

I should have been more clear.

If you can’t breathe, you call 911

If you are having trouble breathing and you think it is COVID related, you call your hospital on your way in and ask them what they want you to do. We are directing people to a separate triage area if it is suspected COVID.

Child, I've had a dry cough and my voice has been in and out for 2 weeks, should I continue my steady diet of whisk and rich green if I'm feeling terrific?

The hardest part of the quarantine for me, by some measure, has been the don't-touch-your-face stuff. I'm a terrible nail biter, so the past two weeks have basically been me in constant Egon Spengler mode. "Don't look at the trap." "I looked at the trap, Ray."

Week before things started getting shut down, but after the dont touch your face stuff started, I was at an offsite with 10 other managers from around the country. I’d look around periodically to see who was touching their faces.

People touch their faces a hell of a lot.
