Just assume you don’t have it and move on with your life. That’s what everyone else seems to be doing.

Have people other than mac had trouble getting tests when they wanted them?

I had to try several places this morning before someone would take us. No symptoms, for some reason (test availability?), is a disqualifier for many test sites.

I only wonder as I've not been looking to get a test done. Wasn't sure if there was some sort of thanksgiving rush on tests? Or what...

It's really crazy how hard it is to get a test at this point....8 months in.
Try playing football. Might I suggest longsnapper?

We've always been able to get them. You may have to wait an hour or two but we've had no issues.

vs having people at your house: cheaper drinks, can do whatever you want for food, can play games, etc.

I'm thinking the reason that the day before Thanksgiving is a popular day for drinking in bars is that people want to get away from the people at their house, such as relatives in town for Thanksgiving that they hate.

Are there private labs doing them anywhere here like in PA? It’s either the state health department or doctor’s/urgent care offices here.

In my hometown, it was always the best time to go out when you’re home from college and want to see your hometown pals. Everybody was out the Wednesday before thanksgiving.

Had no idea Wednesday was the biggest bar day of the year. Is that said by someone completely forgetting about the Saturday before St. Patricks Day? Or New Years Eve?

Mostly the same over here.

I've had to get three tests. One was a drive-thru done by the health department, other two were at my primary doc.

I think its one of those things that I just say for all of them. Like how any really hot day for me is "the hottest day of the year" even though it's not factually backed.

Evidently there are significant side effects with Pfizer and Moderna's vaccines. There is some concern that recipients won't come back for the second dose because they are so bad.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/23/covid-v ... park-.html
Participants in Moderna and Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine trials told CNBC in September that they were experiencing high fever, body aches, bad headaches, daylong exhaustion and other symptoms after receiving the shots. While the symptoms were uncomfortable, and at times intense, the participants said they often went away after a day, sometimes sooner, and that it was better than getting Covid-19.

Both companies acknowledged that their vaccines could induce side effects that are similar to symptoms associated with mild Covid-19, such as muscle pain, chills and headache.

One North Carolina woman in the Moderna study who is in her 50s said she didn’t experience a fever but suffered a bad migraine that left her drained for a day and unable to focus. She said she woke up the next day feeling better after taking Excedrin but added that Moderna may need to tell people to take a day off after a second dose.

“If this proves to work, people are going to have to toughen up,” she said. “The first dose is no big deal. And then the second dose will definitely put you down for the day for sure. ... You will need to take a day off after the second dose.”

Depends on what you mean by 'trouble'. Shortages? No. Mile-long lines that take hours to get through at a venue the size of Dodger Stadium? Yes.

That doesn't sound fun, but wouldn't cause me to hesitate for even a second when it comes to getting the vaccine.

I don't want to pay 129 dollars for one (Quest) and all other than medexpress need a script around me. Walgreens never has appointments and CVS says I don't qualify based on not having symptoms or being exposed.

Do medexpress says you have to call for an appointment at 8am the same day and are mostly out of appointments by 10am.

I think it's just a perfect storm of increase in cases, new "mandates" and Thanksgiving.

I have heard this too, hoped it was just early findings and they wouldn't bear out.
