Yep. Oxford just appears to be more effective with a lower initial dose, as compared to two full strength doses.Aren't all 3 of them - Moderna, Pfizer, and Oxford - two dose vaccines?

That's good to know. I'm good with whichever vaccine is made available to me, at this point.Yep. Oxford just appears to be more effective with a lower initial dose, as compared to two full strength doses.Aren't all 3 of them - Moderna, Pfizer, and Oxford - two dose vaccines?

How are you going to convince the anti-vaxx people to not take one but TWO shots?

If the vaccines make it so that you only have a 10% or less chance of catching covid and even if you do a 100% chance that it will be mild, then **** the anti-vaxxers.How are you going to convince the anti-vaxx people to not take one but TWO shots?

Honest, dead-serious question here.
I have autoimmune issues, some of which came close to killing me in the past. The data I have seen is not clear on how any of these vaccines will affect me, ergo I am leery of getting any of them. Am I considered an "anti-vaxxer"?

it's not even the anti-vaxxers. I don't consider my boss an anti-vaxxer but he's already said he won't get the COVID vaccine because he doesn't get flu shots either. How are you going to convince the anti-vaxx people to not take one but TWO shots?
guess I should ask him if I can have his office chair when he's dead.

Why would you be considered an anti-vaxxer? There is a difference between having a legitimate medical condition that could cause side effects with this vaccine compared to OMG THIS VACCINE IS GOING TO IMPLANT A CHIP IN ME blah blah blah.Honest, dead-serious question here.

I wouldn't consider myself one. But I do see people (not necessarily in this thread, mind you) equate anyone that doesn't get the vaccine an anti-vaxxer. I've heard I should stay home, have my insurance rates jacked up, etc. etc. This (the pandemic) hasn't been a fun time for me, and I have had to go into the office (fairly frequently). I weigh the risks and factor in the need to pay my bills. But I worry about the implications of not getting the vaccine/how I am viewed in the future.

There are some very legitimate reasons to have some concerns about the vaccine with how much is still unknown about it (interactions, long-term effects, etc.) And I say this as someone that detests anti-vaxxers and got my kids flu shots this year.I wouldn't consider myself one. Just yelling "TRUST THE SCIENCE" isn't the right way to address those concerns, so I feel for you there.

I understand the fear, especially if you've done any research into the type of vaccine that Pfizer and Moderna are putting out. They are mRNA vaccines and to date, there hasn't been an mRNA vaccine approved for human use. The long term side-effects at this point are all strictly theoretical.
That said, being in the field, I know a few mRNA chemists, and they're stoked about it (as you would assume they would be). All signs pointing to mRNA vaccines being very safe except potentially for people with extreme autoimmune issues.

I got my flu shot last week, and after I said I'd never had one, the nurse told me THREE times in 3 minutes that I was being inoculated with a dead virus that wouldn't make me sick. Unbelievable she had to explain that so many times in a brief interaction.

Oh no doubt. But it's pretty telling that she had to tell me that 3 times. She's a state health department nurse, so she sees all kinds of people.

She didn't mention anything about the microchip or nanobots, though did she?
