The vast majority of the anti-Vaxxers are rich white suburban moms who aren't uneducated crackers from the sticks.

But whatever gets you going.

So, those of us that get a vaccine, are we immune and not able spread it? If yes, do we get some sort of proof so we can go and do what we want?
c'mon guys. I just wanted to know if the vaccine is effective and makes it so I am immune will I also not be able to spread it? I am just an old dadhole and not as smart as everyone here.

If you're vaccinated you should be good to go. The "do we get some sort of proof so we can go and do what we want" question is a really solid one and as you can tell from the responses, nobody really knows. My guess is once a vaccine is readily available, all mitigation efforts will be lifted and it's basically up to you to protect yourself by getting vaccinated. I wouldn't be surprised if COVID19 is added to required vaccinations for schools.

Personal belief exemptions are more common in areas with a higher percentage of White race and higher income.

Didn't Fauci just say that a vaccine isn't necessarily or even probable to have any kind of long term efficacy based on what they now know?

I think a lot of this is attributable to the lockdown slowing down non-COVID related deaths (car accident deaths, etc.)

if we didn't lockdown, we'd probably have a much, much higher death rate (COVID related deaths being higher than they are now and the non-COVID related deaths)

And suicide's and OD's are up. All-cause deaths are a snapshot, I think.

Eh, sort of... He said that the chance of a vaccine being highly effective is slim. In this case, he defines "highly effective" as over 98%. He also said that a vaccine that is only 50% effective may need to be used in addition to social distancing, masks, avoiding indoor bars, etc. He also made sure to say he won't be confident in any vaccine until he sees actual data.

Interesting, that data seems very different from the numbers that are on this chart.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm

On the weekly influenza chart, it has all deaths going back that far, has very different numbers for all the years.

Also, what does week 40-26 mean? We are not at week 40 of 2020.
