I mean that's not tied to gathering for thanksgiving... that's just being a dadholeMy comment stemmed from an acquaintance who continues to go out in public despite being sick and her family being sick. They had a Thanksgiving dinner with over two dozen people in attendance, but it was okay because they knew it was the flu even though all refuse to get tested for covid.I mean, you're not going to get rid of Thanksgiving gatherings for the rest of time...
There's a way to have responsible family get togethers. That's not it.

What kind of doctor is this?My uncle, who has cancer and was recommended to not get the vaccine due to his cancer treatments
No idea, and my uncle is very into alternative medicine so I can't really figure out if it was an actual doc or one of his "docs".

No idea about your uncle but my mom will be starting chemo in the next month or so and was told by her doctor to hold off on the booster until that treatment is done. What kind of doctor is this?My uncle, who has cancer and was recommended to not get the vaccine due to his cancer treatments

Regarding "vaccine apartheid", how big of a role does the complete lack of infrastructure/distribution ability play in some of these countries?
Like, it's the same thing with aid. If there is no one to distribute the food, it doesn't matter how much gets sent there.

Shocking.

NPR looked at deaths per 100,000 people in roughly 3,000 counties across the U.S. from May 2021, the point at which vaccinations widely became available. People living in counties that went 60% or higher for Trump in November 2020 had 2.7 times the death rates of those that went for Biden. Counties with an even higher share of the vote for Trump saw higher COVID-19 mortality rates.

I've been told there is no correlation, tho.

Saw some polling thing last week, republicans also much less likely to get the booster shot. So, basically a 100% chance omricon rolls through red america in 2022.

Yeah. My aunt and uncle are Trump repubs, but got their shots last winter. They've both said they're not getting the boosters.

I think they've bought into the, "The jabs are never going to end!" narrative.

I agree with yinz. I have 2 relatives who take this seriously. The rest are buffoons.
My unvaccinated cousin and his unvaccinated fiance went ice skating in Pitts yesterday, then to a sold concert/performance at the Hard Rock Cafe. I guess you don't need a vaccine there, or they lied. Who knows. Meanwhile my triple vaxxed self would love to go to the Steel City Comic Con next weekend in Monroeville but there's no way in hell I feel comfortable going into a big mass of people like that, and I don't know when I will, if ever. Sucks because going to cons is one of the few hobbies I enjoyed prior to this.

I don't know. They are requiring masks, which is a solid move, but people can pull them down for photos with the celebs, etc. If I didn't have to worry about possibly bringing something home and giving it to my 68 year old mother, I'd likely roll the dice. But I won't take the chance.I wonder if the SCCC people would be more likely to be vaxxed than not.
