COVID-19

Postby Morkle » Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:43 am

Reached out to the doctors office today asking if I should get booster #2. Doctor said to get it, since my last one, was in November. Said with the rising cases, and length of time, it's worth getting it.

Incredibly afraid of it this time, because the last booster made me sick for like 3 days last time. BUT I'm traveling for work in July, so I'd rather get it now, than not have it.

It doesn’t matter any more. It’s the Wild West. Get a booster if you want.

I tried signing up for a booster through CVS’ site and they denied me. I was surprised to see that it’s still only for immunocomprimised people but obviously you can lie on those forms

Im gonna get it sometime in the next week or so

my doctor told me the same thing. FWIW, my 2nd booster was the easiest of all 4. slightly sore arm and nothing else.

Did you? I’m still hesitant to move forward if there’s no need - especially when there’s a possibility of new boosters that target omicron right around the corner.

Yea, I've had some rough reactions to all of the shots.

1st shot: Fatigue / Massive Headache
2nd Shot: Fatigue / Headache / Soreness
3rd Shot: Fatigue / Headache / Soreness / Upset Stomach Sickness

COVID: Fatigue /Headache

I only had a reaction to the first shot, cold sweats for a few hours. No reaction to the next two. Moderna Crew.

Yea my first two shots were Pfizer, booster was Moderna - and that was the worst of the three. I'll be doing Moderna again here, just to keep it honest.

I did not. I had it late Jan / early Feb.

My plan is to get a booster with my flu vaccine in early November.

That was my initial plan, unless that new booster I mentioned is authorized in early fall.

That’s fair. I’m sort of over chasing this thing. I’m going to fold it into my routine life it at all possible. It’s probably a gamble, but it’s what I feel is best for me.

Yea, I would have preferred to wait - but with travel happening this summer, especially on planes - that has me concerned so I'll go out of my way this time.

My reasoning is that school will be starting up, and it would seem like a good time to go ahead and get boosted. I actually don't expect anything before winter, and will always wait and see what the experts recommend at the time. Not gonna lie on my appointment just to get it done.

I had a minor reaction to the initial two-stage, but the booster knocked me on my ass for a day.

My wife just came home--her employer has them back three days per week. Her boss (who she spent a total of like four hours with this week in the office) called her to let her know she tested positive for COVID. Thankfully, my wife is negative...so far.

Just so stupid and avoidable.

I just hate this. I don't want to be tied to a booster, especially one that is going to make me sick. I don't get anxiety about shots, just hate the feeling. Getting it on Monday so if I get sick, at least it's through the week lol.

But cases aren't rising. I'm holding off for the omicron specific booster in the fall. There's really no point to get the same shot again considering protection against infection is basically the same along with hospitalization/death rate. Give me that omicron mix.

I'm just saying that cases are not currently rising. And Moderna has an omicron version of their booster coming in the fall.
