the tl;dr of that twitter thread is that omicron seems like it has a lot of mutations compared to delta, we don't know anything about it and that we should make sure poorer countries get more vaccine doses
COVID-19
The belief is that the booster will last longer than the first two but not sure how long yet obviously.I'm actually interested to hear now just how much protection a 2 shot person has now after 6 months of the second shot - based on classifications. Does the MRNA stuff really die that quickly?Hmm interesting. I believe Israel changed their definition of fully vaccinated to only be those who have had the booster.Source of the post Reading deeper into that thread, and they are counting vaccinated but not boosted people in their “unvaccinated” figures. That makes no sense, but also makes this seem much worse now for anyone other than those who have had three shots.

That sucks.. hope all turns out ok!So my dad just tested positive for COVID, and is struggling breathing. This after he got his booster 2 months ago. This one I'm worried about as he has some other medical issues.

Thanks man, he was up all night coughing and weezing. He's at the doctor right now, they tested him and he came back positive. They are going to try to give him a treatment and will monitor. That sucks.. hope all turns out ok!So my dad just tested positive for COVID, and is struggling breathing. I just worry because this is like the first day he was showing symptoms, and if he is already wheezing and stuff, it just worries me.

Is he high risk? If he’s having breathing problems, I would try to get him a monoclonal antibody. Since he has comorbidities, he would qualify for something. So my dad just tested positive for COVID, and is struggling breathing. This after he got his booster 2 months ago. Israel has been on top of data during Covid but I'd still like to see their sources. When I looked into the article that I posted yesterday featuring the same data, I couldn't find where they're getting their data. If it's internal data from Israel, when the health minister said this there were only 4 confirmed cases in Israel. Surely they're not basing this off a sample size of 4.

Speaking of UPMC, looks like they will be mandating vaccines for their employees. Should be interesting to see the fallout from this

That's what the doctor said. He has had prostate cancer in the past as well as leukemia. So they think he'll qualify. Is he high risk? I just talked to him and he seems much better that they gave him a protozone shot (he has to get one every year at this time with the weather change), so maybe that is driving the wheezing, but you just don't know.

my sister was part of an antibody tracing study and shared the results. between her first and second dose she was at 23μg/mL, after her second dose she was at 80 (the peak) and right before her booster she was at 8. So there was some significant waning it seemsI'm actually interested to hear now just how much protection a 2 shot person has now after 6 months of the second shot - based on classifications.
