COVID-19

Which speaking of. My wife takes her test and grabs it after like 3 minutes. Cmon man.
Wait... Grabs what?
The covid test. Hahaha. You're supposed to let it sit untouched for 15 min
All the positive tests I have ever witnessed turned positive well before 15 minutes. Id actually say within the first 2-3 minutes. Do people here have any different experience?

I tested myself twice and with my only positive this was the case.

My kids were scheduled to get the booster the week they had covid. What is best in terms of getting the booster now? Should they get it now or is it beneficial to wait longer?

My wife's OB wants her to go get the infusions as she tested positive last night, albeit with a rapid test. So she goes today at 2PM to get it. Sounds like a warzone in there too when the person called her to come in. She was literally giving someone an infusion and said "just come at 2 see you then" and hung up.

I'm assuming we're talking Monoclonal Antibody? Why does she need that?

Aren't those treatments ineffective for Omicron?

Right that's why I was wondering why they'd recommend that.

Yeah, to be honest I'm kind of confused also. She's 9 months pregnant with gestational diabetes. Her OB says she's high risk and needs to do it.

Cough and congestion but seems fine otherwise. I still am pouring sweat for the second straight day.

Yeah... mab treatment right now isn't going to hurt anything, but it likely won't help much either. If this were previous variants, sure.

Just don't let them give her horse paste.

I believe the recommended wait is until you're post-symptomatic and out of isolation.

And that has all past, I wasn't sure if it made sense to wait on the booster since they have the antibodies now or if any of that matters. I have no idea

depends. all IM injections have proven to be ineffective against omicron. if a sotrovimab infusion is available - 100% get it, its the only one that helps with omicron. the others wont hurt but it wont help.

With the widespread availability of shots, there is no such thing as "too much immunity". Get them their shots. :fist:

I appreciate the info and passed along to her. She's en route to Forbes right now. But had a negative rapid test today. So who the F knows.

My cousin was switched to a cpap machine today and is awaiting a bed to be transferred to a larger/more capable hospital. All of the hospitals are currently at max capacity. :(

I just learned that my cousin's husband (who also has covid but isn't hospitalized) is being told by countless friends/neighbors that he should start taking ivermectin because they did and they beat covid. And he's considering it.
