COVID-19
Got my booster (PPP) last Wednesday. Nothing other than arm soreness and maybe a little fatigue.
I think the increases we're seeing in northern states is quite likely based on seasonality, and we're going to see SARS-CoV-2 recur just like the flu does. I also think that we're seeing waning efficacy for the vaccines. There are some good studies indicating that the protection against infection wanes after roughly six months. And it's been around six months since the vaccines were opened to everyone earlier this year. The anti-vax idiots have been pointing to those studies for their "sEE! ThE VAcCInes ArE USeleSS!" arguments. And of course they're ignoring the facts that the vaccines were never intended to offer sterilizing immunity against infection and that the vaccines still greatly reduce the chances of severe illness, hospitalization, and death.

Welcome to team PPM. I’m 32 hours in and the side effects are gone except a little arm soreness.

16 hours in. Arm hurts. Maybe a minor headache but who knows if it's related.
From now until lunch will be the key.

Is the Moderna booster a half dose for you pfizer mutants too? Or is it just for us MMM folk?

The Moderna booster is the same half dose regardless of the primary vaccination - I believe largely due to the higher incidence of myocarditis among young male second dose Moderna recipients.

21 hours in. I feel decent, but man, I am definitely hitting a wall fatigue-wise. Hard to envision me not taking a nap for a couple hours this afternoon.

Did you have any effects after the second dose this spring?26.5 hours post booster.16 hours post booster.I’m a traitor to my kind… I am now a PPM mutt.
Stay tuned for side effects.
Arm is sore. Little fatigued.
Wife got bad chills after about 18-19 hours. Hoping to avoid that.
At the 24 hour mark, I got wiped out. Laid down and slept dead like until five minutes ago.
Some chills as well.
Damn Moderna.

COVID-19
Heard from a colleague that had trouble locally finding a vaccine for her six-year-old. Her pediatrician's office acted indignant about the very idea that she should want to get her child vaccinated for COVID. "We don't anticipate having THAT vaccine EVER." Very...odd.
We went to this same practice for years and ran into some HIPPA issues a few years ago - like a nurse mentioning to a friend that one of my kids had been in the office with a fever. Then this friend said to my wife, "Oh, I heard your boys were sick..." and we hadn't mentioned anything to anyone outside of the doctor's office. Small town ****, but still...
My colleague was able to get an appointment at the local hospital for a shot for her son, and they had immediate availability.
That's why the virus will stay around like the flu/RSV/etc.

Yeah, she asked me for the name of the GP we use. Good guy, pro-vaccine, and not from the south (bigly plus for me).

On the same topic, as of last week or so, my daughter's pediatrician's clinic - open to all ages - was responsible for over 6% of all 5-11 vaccinations in the entire state. They've been knocking it out of the park since day one.

I've been in bed since two, laying on the heating pad and dozing. Headache definitely not pleasant.
