Like, I drastically changed my lifestyle in the interest of safety and those around me...but first of all, stop being such dumb p***ies...second of all, on like the seventh day of this, they came out were just like, "Hey, yeah, listen, uhhh...the surface thing isn't really true...we were just yellin stuff because everyone else was yellin stuff, we really had no idea...our bad..."I have neighbors who wipe their groceries down before bringing them in the house, they also are the people who yell about why should I wear masks and you can't make me get a vaxx. It has to be exhausting being these people.CDC says risk of COVID-19 transmission on surfaces 1 in 10,000

Does this mean I can stop wiping down groceries?

Yeah, I never wiped them down at any point...I washed my hands as soon as I got home, I washed my hands after I put **** away and threw the bags out and that was that...and I still do that now, as it seems like a good practice because - like before the pandemic - I strive to not be ill...

Yeah I stopped some time last summer. I don't know if the CDC ever came out with a figure like "1 in 10,000" but they did say it was low risk and surfaces were not the primary transmitter.I thought this was known a long, long time ago. I stopped in May or June of 2020.CDC says risk of COVID-19 transmission on surfaces 1 in 10,000

I do remember being shipped a car part from the Bronx and just leaving the box sitting in the sun in my backyard for a few days.

We still wash our reusable bags which was a new thing during the pandemic. Doesn't hurt. I do wash my hands after putting stuff away, but really it's a stupid exercise because my Covid hands were touching all the groceries to begin with. I mostly stopped using hand sanitizer after going to public places, but every once in a while you get the heeby jeebies at a store and just feel it necessary to burn the skin off your hands.

Looking back I also did a lot of weird **** that I thought was necessary. I definitely had packages sitting in the garage for a few days before I'd bring them inside. I washed my hands so much that they were chapped. I didn't get take out until May and when I finally caved I insisted on re-heating everything in the oven and using our own plates.I do remember being shipped a car part from the Bronx and just leaving the box sitting in the sun in my backyard for a few days.
I still wash my hands when I get home and I'll throw the mask in the washer if I wore it most of the day, but that's about it.

Reusable bags should be washed anyway. Chicken or meat drippings make it essential for me.

we're not designing the product directly but part of the design process, absolutelyyeah, we've rebuilt our entire core platform and designed a potential industry disruptor since last spring.Under my leadership, we have unleashed two extremely significant, never-before-seen features to our platform (one, just this week in fact) in the last six months...so major that we upped our version number for each one of them (which is apparently a big deal, that I don't care at all about haha).
I feel more productive because I waste so much less time on getting ready and walking to work, I don't necessarily have to be done at 4:54 or whenever I used to leave...and I can draw out ideas uninterrupted...
I get the idea of whiteboards and all that...and I think there's value to that. But, what's that, like once a month...? I think we'd see a reduction in production big time if we all had to go back full time...
My company did say August, but I have fought for IT to be exempt for the reasons I stated above, and appear to be winning...
IMO MiMH is in a strange organization if the devs are also designing the product.
I mean, I don't want to brag but I work at a really good company. Started in 2012, we IPO'd last year and the IPO was great. Culture is a big thing for us. Some of it does come off as stupid lip service but most of the time it's genuine
I think a lot of it depends on where you work. If I was still at my old company (McGraw Hill Financial) I would never want to go back to the office

I will admit that we treated the box from the first in-pandemic pizza, we treated the box like it was made of nuclear wasteLooking back I also did a lot of weird **** that I thought was necessary. "And speaking of my colon, I want you to know I don’t automatically wash my hands every time I go to the bathroom okay? Can you deal with that? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. You know when I wash my hands? When I **** on them! That’s the only time. And you know how often that happens? Tops, TOPS, 2-3 times a week tops!"

last spring, the obsession with hand washing in response to a respiratory disease that we're all quarantining for...lots of smug, 30 second hand washers thought it was their moment in the sun, but nothing was more overrated throughout this thing.

I put soap on my hands, wash for a while, then when it’s all gone and some amount of time has passed I turn off the water without checking the clock. What? Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, schmuck.
Somehow I’ve made it to age 40 without an egg timer in the bathroom.

S**t, I meant to tag you in that post.Looks like a CA honeymoon is back on the menu.Gov Newsom just announced that if the vaccination effort continues apace and hospitalizations remain below a set threshold, all statewide COVID restrictions in California can be lifted as early as June 15th.
Wooohoo!

I am officially Team Pfizer. Is that Team Hot Dog Water or Impervious Butthole Sneezers? I can’t keep track.
On a side note, absolutely amazing to watch the rollout operation at Dick’s HQ.
