COVID-19
As far as I've been able to tell "break through" is any case in a vaccinated person - even if they're completely asymptomatic. Also, does "break through" mean harsher symptoms or just that it infects easier or better but the host still doesn't get very sick due to the vaccine?

This is a great website...Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but some guy created a website to help find vaccine appointments quickly. You can even filter down to which vaccine you’re looking for.
https://www.vaccinespotter.org
Also, there are a ton of J&J appointments around me and in Bedford County. If you want a vaccine, you can get one easily if you have a car.

COVID-19
The New York Post (yeah, I know) keeps running articles on people who received the J&J vaccine getting Covid and had one today about a guy in his 50s who is hospitalized with Covid 5 weeks after getting vaccinated. Even though I'm #teammoderna those stories freak me out.

The stories I've seen are either people who are not fully vaxxed or people who are much older and perhaps their immune system isn't as strong or doesn't latch on as well to the vaccine. No shot is 100%. As long as these stories of fully vaccinated people needing hospitalized are rare enough to warrant a news story, we're in good shape. The New York Post (yeah, I know) keeps running articles on people who received the J&J vaccine getting Covid and had one today about a guy in the hospital with Covid 5 weeks after getting vaccinated. Or, maybe they make up the proportion of people that it didn't work for.

If you compare the efficacy data head to head, that's correct. If you look at how the trials were done, they're apples to oranges. Pfizer and Moderna were done in the USA at the low point last summer and wrapped up trials by early fall. J&J were in US as well, but also in Brazil and South Africa and were started late summer and went through the peak of the flu season. It's also the J&J vaccine that has less protection, right?
J&J's trials showed 0 hospitalization and 0 deaths. Those are the important numbers.

Right? I was like, I don't think this works how you seem to think it works.*reads comment*Be nice, the Pfizer and J&J cretins do have feelings, ya know. There's only one winner on the podium. The others are getting glorified participation trophies. They're still all on winners on the podium.

There isn't anything specific to COVID that makes this story gross, but I'll drop this here because it's a sign o' the times..............
Went out to do some shopping yesterday, and was in a multi-level parking structure walking down the stairs to get my ticket validated. Guy coming up the stairs carrying his mask in his hand, as we crossed each other he straight up sneezed on my arm.
Words were exchanged, security ultimately intervened; definitely not the way I wanted to spend my Sunday.

Following on to that story, it was especially annoying because we had just done a 'thing' for the first time the day before. We went to a friend's house in Camarillo for a little outdoor (distanced) get together. And we also booked a weekend in Santa Barbara for the weekend after the statewide restrictions are set to lift, and we talked about flying to Vegas to see the fam shortly after.
So it was like "*sigh* Things are gonna be things again soon!" and then Douchey McF**kface blows snot on me as I'm leaving Total Wine.

Were you mad because it was on the arm and not directly in the butthole?

If COVID was never a thing, I'd be pissed. There isn't anything specific to COVID that makes this story gross, but I'll drop this here because it's a sign o' the times..............

Right?? That was actually a subject of much of the discourse between the gentleman and me during our quarrel. If COVID was never a thing, I'd be pissed. There isn't anything specific to COVID that makes this story gross, but I'll drop this here because it's a sign o' the times..............

There was a news segment on whatever my wife was watching this morning, perhaps Good Morning America?, about cases in children rising, along with more long haulers. They were doing a story on a 12 year old who got it last November and is still plagued with fatigue, etc.

I’ve said this *checks calendar* March 16, 2020Does anyone pay attention to case numbers anymore? Or is it just hospitalizations and deaths? Honestly the number of cases means nothing to me. Tell me who is getting sick. What are those numbers doing...
