Having to get an annual booster is what it is... But I'm hoping it's not as brutal as the second shot has been for most people our age. That would be annoying to have a day every year of feeling like death.

Day 2 after shot 2 and I'm fine.

It's funny to me that after a full year, people (similar to MTG) think you can tough guy your way out of a pandemic. It's insane.

After all is said and done, I never want to hear about the 'american spirit' ever again. This country is so plagued with people who flat out refuse to do even the bare minimum to help others, often doing the opposite just to be disruptive. We're the biggest laughing stock on earth, and deserve to be seen as such.

And before anyone says it, I don't give a **** how this has gone in Europe or anywhere else. We should be better than this.

UNC Greensboro - obviously a state school - is not requiring vaccinations for students in the fall. They are giving a $1500 discount on room and board, however, if you are vaccinated. That's a pretty decent incentive imo.

This is the biggest issues with incentives like this... you get the "what about meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!??!?!". You're not on campus? You don't pay the university to live there? Well, you don't get the incentive. Done.

Wouldn't 'board' include other resources they take advantage of? They might still benefit.

Or shift that incentive to something else, like books.

I'm all for incentives and as many people getting the shot as possible. This particular incentive, however, seems to only benefit half of the students. It'd be better if it wasn't limited to room & board. $1500 credit would make more sense where you could use it for room & board, tuition, books, whatever.

Almost like a stimulus incentive of sorts.

Also, the point of the incentive is to convince students to get the shot, so why would you incentivize something that excludes half your student pop?

Like I said... when you offer incentives, you're gonna get the "well, I deserve some too."

What about the employees? Cafeteria workers? Janitors? What about the residents of the town where the university is located? What about alumni? What about other schools sports teams who come to the university to play sports? Those that haven't died of suicide, anyways...

The list gets more and more ridiculous. Luckily most higher ups at universities don't cave to that crap. "Here's the incentive. You don't qualify? Tough..."

Vaccine administration might get lowered to 12 year olds today

The employees should be also receive an incentive, you're correct. Or UNC could follow a lot of other schools and simply require the vaccine.

I just realized it's UNC Greensboro...

I think they were doing 6 months up to 12 year olds, right?
