My mom was scheduled for her first shot on March 11, but that was canceled late last week for lack of vaccine. Isn't that a bit early to cancel for shipping issues? ( @meow it was MUSC fwiw)

Cascading impact from previous shipping problems most likely. I would not be surprised if they reached out to her between now and then and she still gets it on or around the 11th.

one of my friends is a pharmacist in a small central Louisiana town. she had a vaccine event on Saturday and 48 people didn't show for their appointments so she and her staff just started calling people on their phone contact list. I really wish I didn't live 9 hours away from her. :(

Here's an update from your resident Long Hauler.

I'm on day 66 of not being well. The scary heart stuff has mostly subsided - I had been dealing with palpitations and a racing heart even while sitting on the couch. The stomach issues are a little better too... I started a therapeutic dosage of pepcid and cut out coffee, booze, and pretty much all high fat or processed foods (including pizza and wings).

The only medical issue identified was some vagal response concerns, specifically with my blood pressure dropping pretty low during exercise recovery or if I get up too fast. I was told to eat more salt and report back in 2 months.

Current issues are waking up every morning around 4am with a severe headache that sometimes lasts until the afternoon, dizziness when my BP drops, and sporadic fatigue/lethargy that comes on a few times a day with no rhyme or reason and requires me to lie down with my feet up.

Its been a bit of a rough road mentally. Originally was concerned I wouldn't wake up in the morning, that went away and now I just want my life back because I can't do much and am afraid to do anything in case I'm not home when the shtty feeling hits.

I keep trying to remind myself there are improvements week over week but I really just want my life back. And that could take months or even a year.

On the bright side, I can walk about 2 miles now and started using the total gym and light weights.

TLDR - **** covid.
Thanks for the reminder nocera. Long Haul month 3 is today.

No heart issues over the past month. Drank 2 beers on Thursday after work just to see what would happen. No meaningful impact. Tried coffee Sunday but that made me feel like ****. Lightheadedness from blood pressure dropping is improving too. I dont know that I've done too well with increasing salt intake so i assume that's more time related.

Still getting headaches and brain fog and there are about 3 times a day now where I have to put my feet up. Trying to avoid buying thigh high compression stockings but may take the leap if this doesn't keep improving.

I'm finding it's kind of shifted to "relapse episodes" where I'm at my new health baseline for 4 or 5 days, then have 2 or 3 bad days. That baseline is probably about 75% of pre-covid health.

I'm also noticing there's like an extra premium on sleep and hydration. I feel significantly worse if I don't get at least 7 or 8 hours of real restorative sleep and stay super hydrated. I basically am pissing all day long due to drinking tons of water and electrolytes.

Baseline at this point is fatigue episodes throughout the day, tingling in my arms, thigh and chest cramps that come and go, headaches.

Tldr... improving. Not where I'd like to be and not sure if I will ever be where I'd like to be, but I'm able to do more today than last month.

Hope you keep getting better KC. I'm sure it's frustrating the affects are lingering this long. But it sounds like tis' getting better, although at a VERY slow pace.

Is there a single website that pulls all of the various pharmacies providing vaccinations? Holy **** having to go to like 5-6 different websites to check availability is obnoxious.

Can't imagine what it'd be like to have little computer/internet skills.

Yeah those websites must have old info. I tried early this morning and both sites said multiple Rite Aid's and GE's had available shots. No, they didn't

So there isn't much info out there on how to treat. Lots of ongoing research. Most of what I got came from my PCP guessing and reddit haha.

Vitamins... b6, b12, C, D, zinc, magnesium, and quercetin. Lots of folks do niacin but I'm kind of afraid of the flushing. I did a therapeutic run of Pepcid for about 30 days but stopped once my stomach felt better. Also doing a probiotic. Daily baby aspirin.

Daily exercise - many people can't at all, I find that I actually feel worse if I'm too sedentary. Light but trying to build it up. I have been able to increase the duration of light exercise but I haven't been able to increase the intensity quite yet. Very lightheaded when I tried.
