COVID-19

There is a chinese buffet along 22(fortune star I think it's called) that I miss going to. It's open in some capacity again now, but I'm not going back till this whole thing is over.

It's not even great food but I can toss back like 5 plates from the buffet easily.

Has anyone flown recently? One of our vacation exchanges got a match and I’ve got 24 hours to decide it I want to keep the reservation, which is around July 4. My wife told me she wants to go, so it’s looking like I might go ahead with it.

We’re trying to figure out to do during spring break. My son has 6 days off school. So hard to find something to do with kids at the end of March

Seriously considering flying as an option, but can’t get the wife to buy in on it

I’ve flown to Alaska and Arizona over the past year

Airlines are good about enforcing people wear masks

That’s good to hear. I don’t think I’d be open to it without being vaccinated, but since it was my wife who told me to keep the unit, here we go. Now I just need to see if a covid test is still required if you’ve been vaccinated. Hawaii has been sending people home right after they step off the plane if they don’t have the proper records.

I haven’t been to our local buffet place in years. I called in a to go order for lunch one day, and showed up to pick it up and pay for it. Once I paid for it, the cashier went out to the buffet and scooped my order (General Tso’s Chicken) into a container, then a container of rice, bagged both up and handed it to me.

That just grossed me out for some reason.
Do you think in service restaurants that the chef cooks your food at a distance?

My issue - and this was years before COVID- was I didn't want food sitting out under heat lamps all day, open to people sneezing on it etc.

I never got a callback for the J&J vaccine trial so I’m assuming I won’t even be a part of it. Though, I heard that a local Walgreens is setting up a waitlist for the vaccine for anyone because they don’t want to waste any shots so I called them up and got on it. Interestingly it’s store by store, another Walgreens near me isn’t doing it

it's funny how times have changed. I don't think my parents were ever concerned what to do me and my siblings and during Spring Break. they went to work and we slept in and then later played with our friends in the neighborhood. rinse, wash, repeat.

When I was growing up, Spring Break usually meant a trip to Washington DC. Most often it was just a day, but a couple times I remember my mom getting time off work and us spending a couple overnights in the District.

Spring break in elementary/high school? I didn’t know that was a thing. We had four days scheduled off around Easter that were snow make up days pretty much every year. We usually ended up with Good Friday off and that was it.

I remember it becoming a thing when I was in middle school. Went from Friday and Monday before and after Easter off to having the entire week and Monday off.

This might be what we do. Have to see what’s open first

I think only outdoor spaces are open and accessible; the Smithsonian museums are certainly dark for now.

Raging headache and arm pain for about 2 hours around the T+ 12 hour mark. Totally fine now. Wonder if that means the second shot will be horrendous.
