My university's women's basketball team won a conference game...with six players. The rest of the team is in quarantine.

I have three students in quarantine right now, which is about what I had for the entire fall semester. Weird.

A family member got vaccinated this week. He is not a front line worker, he is not 65+, he does not fall into a high-risk category. He is a teacher who has been working from home since March. Teachers in PA are not eligible for the vaccine yet. I asked him how he got an appointment and he never responded. My guess is he lied about something to jump the line, and since he's an idiot he bragged about it on social media not realizing that people would question it.

I was thinking last night that, and this will sound tinfoil-hatty, but I wonder if celebrities are getting vaccinated and laying low about it. There was a lot of vitriol about them quarantining in their mansions but still being able to get tested at-will when actually at-risk people couldn't get a test despite having symptoms and working in public. I'm a little surprised we haven't seen celebrities getting the vaccine and going public about it as part of a broader awareness plan.

I don't really have a point. Was watching a movie while falling asleep last night and one of the actors was the poster child for celebrity testing and it made me realize I haven't heard much about celebrity vaccinations.

My tinfoil hat theory was that people would sign up to be Postmates or Door Dash drivers - with no intention of actually doing that - to be categorized as 'essential'.

I'd buy that except I don't think the distribution plan is organized enough to tell the difference. I fall anywhere between 1a/1c based on any number of factors but have no way of conveying that to anyone that's distributing vaccines.
