COVID-19
Our Walmart has shut down for two days for sanitation due to a high number of COVID cases.
Not a big deal in larger areas, but in rural towns like ours...it cuts the grocery store options in half for those without a good car.

I had a baseball coach taht said: "if you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, that's unacceptable"My Dad always said, "if you aren't 10 minutes early, you're late".
so, by the transitive property, being early is unacceptable

My wife is starting her last semester at CCAC, which is all clinicals in her PT program at CCAC. She didn't let cancer slow her progress through the program down. Director called her today and said Allied Health is going to get vaccines for the campus and she'll be pushed to the front of the line because of the totality of her circumstances. Should be soon.
Yay!

Thanks. She was very nervous about it so this was welcome news.
This is a friend of hers from a cancer support group which has put her a bit extra on edge: https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2021/01 ... on-county/

Got an email from Turbo Tax regarding the stimulus
Dear Valued TurboTax Customer,
The IRS recently began issuing a second round of stimulus payments to those eligible. Unfortunately, because of an IRS error, millions of payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their stimulus payment.
We have been working tirelessly on a solution with the Treasury and the IRS. As a result, our expectation now is that within days the error will be corrected and stimulus payments will begin being deposited into the correct bank accounts. We have also re-confirmed with the IRS that they have all of the correct banking information.
We know how important these funds are for so many Americans and that everyone is anxious to get their money, now more than ever. We will keep you updated on our efforts, and we will stay on this until you get your money.
Respectfully,
Greg Johnson
Executive Vice President & General Manager

For those of you who work in healthcare, were you given the option of which vaccine you could receive? Looks like my group is getting ready to go, and we appear to be able to choose between the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Faucci on NPR this morning said by April it will be open season for the vaccine. Anyone that wants it can go get it. He suggested that the sluggish rollout is due to two things: 1. This is a massive operation, so of course there will be snags. 2. It started during the holiday season and it will become more smooth now that we're past that.
I agree with 1, doubt 2.

He also suggested that if people do go get the vaccine (which he said we will not be in short supply of come summer), by fall the country will be back to "normal".
