COVID-19
I'm July at a minimum but we don't know what return to work means yet. What we do know is it won't be 5 days a week to the same setting as before.
Guessing 2-3 days without assigned permanent space for staff.

My brother told me that he was going to eat at The Crack'd Egg today in order to support them for defying the restaurant closures. He also said that he might take a vaccine in "10 years," and if his employer or the government were to try to force him to take a vaccine, he would sue.

Props to all of you for getting the vaccine days before Christmas. That's great, hope the side effects clear out so you can enjoy the holiday.
I got my flu shot the day before Thanksgiving and was a giant baby about it.

That's not how it works. You don't just get to go around mask less and such after you get the shot. Plus everyone is just getting dose 1...still gotta get a 2nd dose a few weeks later. So you lucky vaccine people. Can you go anywhere and do whatever you want for Christmas? If yes, I am EXTREMELY jealous.

The way this has been breaking, each COVID+ person can transmit to 2-3 people before they know they're sick. (That's a general number, not a hard-and-fast rule or anything) That means to get to herd immunity via vaccination, you'd have to vax between around 200 and maybe 250 million people in this country before mitigation practices - masks, social distancing, avoidance of congregate indoor gatherings of multiple 'pods', etc. - can be safely lifted. Earliest that's likely is summer. It's not a free pass to do stuff. So you lucky vaccine people. Can you go anywhere and do whatever you want for Christmas? If yes, I am EXTREMELY jealous.
It's not known if the vaccines prevent infection outright yet, just that they're 90+% effective at limiting symptoms to the 'mild' range if you do get it. It also isn't known yet if the vaccines can prevent a vaccinated person with a pre-symptomatic case from transmitting the disease. So you could be vaccinated, and still carry the disease and potentially be transmissible.
I'm also not sure how many (if any) people will have even had their booster ahead of Christmas.

Considering he's my only family in this city and my only sibling, I feel like I need to walk somewhat of a tightrope here. I certainly don't agree with this attitude. He's not only gone full bore on the anti-mask stuff, he's drifting well into the anti-vax camp, and I don't agree with that at all. At the same time, he's literally the only person I have to spend any of the holidays with.He deserves to be mocked for being a dingleberry. That doesn’t change because he’s family.

Oh, I don’t disagree with you at all here. I’m calling him a dingleberry so that you don’t have to. I'm ok with wearing my mask until everyone who wants the vaccine gets it. I've been wearing my mask for months for other people anyway, right? The way this has been breaking, each COVID+ person can transmit to 2-3 people before they know they're sick. once those who want the vaccine receive it though, the mask comes off. if I transmit COVID to you and you were too stupid to get the vaccine "because GATES!" then I don't feel bad for you.

I'm guessing a lot of young folk (under 35) won't get the vaccine. A lot of young people don't bother with the flu vaccine and I don't think they will get this one either. I never bothered with flu shot till I got to 50. Just didn't seem a threat to me and I'm thinking a lot of young people feel the same about Covid. Hopefully I'm wrong, guess we'll see.

I’m 29 and I’ll be getting the vaccine as soon as I can. Not so much because I want to protect myself but because I know that’s the least I can do for us to achieve, dare I say it, herd immunity
