Freddy... I'm curious as to your thoughts. What spreads COVID faster, or I suppose, which situation would result in more people getting sick? Having 75 people in a bar with 1 person infected or 5 individual parties of 15 people each with 1 person infected in the entirety of those 75 people?

I know that King.

The point is to act like this is going to have any material effect on anything other than continuing to hurt local businesses is just to further Ralph Wigguming "I'm helping and I care" the response.
Theoretically, dispersing the large crowds into multiple smaller pockets should be helpful, right?

Is it worth the damage to local businesses, hard to say. They need to make sure those businesses get taken care of though (they wont).

I'm not going to lie I am looking forward to just having Thanksgiving with my wife and I at our house. Normally we are the ones that have to drive everywhere both Thanksgiving and Christmas because we don't have kids so it's going to be nice to just stay at home cook for ourselves and relax all day. Really really looking forward to it.

Btw, who will be tasked with enforcing this or is this one of those things where we can make pronouncements, etc... and then not a whole lot of follow through is given?

Maybe it would be nice if people just adhered? This isn't an exercise in the government trying to stab your liberty in the brain stem.

Unlike other things they've put in place, this one is pretty enforceable...

My son's daycare closed due to covid and we (wife and I) both have to test negative before he's allowed back.

So I've been trying to get a covid test for 2 days now and I can't find anywhere to go. No appointments... No availability... Nothing.

Where do you go without a prescription?

Medexpress is sold out of tests at like 8:05 daily.

I'm sad because this weekend is usually going up to my inlaws and boozing the entire weekend. And now that hunting is allowed on Saturday/Sunday, we can get together and clean deer and drink beer after the sun goes down all weekend.

But now my wife is waivering on even going. So it is going to be boring.

Well, as has been documented I don't care about people, so this is really a desire for me to just see more chaos in PA. :scared:

For what it's worth too, we're keeping him out all week anyway, but I'll need the test towards the end of this week so he can go back next.

My brother usually gets stuck going to his in-laws for Thanksgiving, and usually gets there the night before. So he doesn't have to hang out with them, he usually "runs an errand" and ends up at a bar for a few hours Wednesday. The only night of the year he solo drinks.

You're not near the city, are you?

I got an appointment for tomorrow at a place in the North Side. There are a few places in or near the city that have appointments. Rite Aid has pretty extensive coverage.

People: We can be trusted to behave responsibly and closing the bars/stopping alcohol sales is a prime example of the nanny state and our rights being stolen.

Monroeville was the closest location to me that I saw does Covid testing. The Allegheny County Covid site has a good listing of test centers and their availability. Not sure about your county though.

apparently our medexpress does testing and you just call when you pull in.. my buddy pulled in at 8am last monday when he wasn't feeling good and called 78 times over an hour and a half til the phone line finally let him through and he got tested. That seems miserable. I was going to go when my stomach wasn't feeling great until I heard that process

Try https://curative.com/

You can search for nearby testing sites. Don't need to have symptoms or insurance, and its free. Its the mouth swab type test. This is where I scheduled my son's test (His teacher tested positive two weeks ago while he was in the classroom with her. My son tested positive on Friday. He hasn't had any symptoms nor anyone else in our house luckily).

It's really crazy how hard it is to get a test at this point....8 months in.
