I'm guessing this is the European model. But Europe is just as much of a calamity as the States right now. There is no good answer unless you are a nation of 4.8 million located in the ocean (New Zealand)It'd be nice if we could settle into a solid compromise between China's insanely strict welding you in your house restrictions and America's **** it maybe we'll go for herd immunity approach.

techincally you should quarantine for 14 days + 10 days from the beginning of onset of symptoms from potential exposure if you are in the same householdTechnically you should quarantine for 14 days

Even after already having it?This. My youngest daughter and my family just went through this. She caught a cold, but had to get tested, we had to quarantine, etc until we got the negative results.Get tested and quarantine. So with my wife having a runny nose and being exposed to someone last week, what is the protocol here? I don't think it's more than a cold, she feels fine, but what the hell are you supposed to do?
My fiance isn't allowed back at work until she gets a negative test and is symptom free.

Europe went basically back to normal then had a massive outbreak and went back to lockdowns. They have mostly flattened the curve, the United States basically looks at any bad news across the globe and concludes that it’s right to do nothingI'm guessing this is the European model. My youngest daughter never tested positive from when it went through the house, so we still had to check. Also, the school either wants you to stay home for 14 days, or get a negative test regardless if you are showing 3 or more symptoms. So we had to get the test to get her and my oldest back to school. As a family, we just played it careful. I know we've had it, but I don't know if we can get it again or not.Even after already having it?

Right in time for the vaccine though.
Where does the US go from here?

You can only slow the train, you can't stop it. I'm still in the boat you need balance. Can't shut down the economy IMO, but also need to be careful, try to enforce the mask mandates and capacity restrictions, etc.and then when europe opens back up the have another massive outbreakEurope went basically back to normal then had a massive outbreak and went back to lockdowns. As usual the Europeans have to wait around for American drug companies to get work done.

I think that vaccine is going to take longer to get out to the community as a whole than people think. It's probably going to be summer of 2021.Right in time for the vaccine though.

That Oxford vaccine which is at like 70% effective is far more transportable. None of the like sub freezing storage requirements.I think that vaccine is going to take longer to get out to the community as a whole than people think. That may be the case, but the focus will still be on the elderly, front line workers, etc. I could be totally wrong, but I still think it will be summer of next year before we can start to go back to "normal".That Oxford vaccine which is at like 70% effective is far more transportable. Isn't the US kind of plateauing now too though?

Yeah and I'm a giant kid. I have no work for 8 days. I hang out with them all day partaking in the above mentioned and play videogames, board games, movies, etc. I'm really good at hanging out.Don't you have kids?

I guess we'll get tested eventually this week. We won't be going anywhere or seeing anyone, so I feel like it's not that big of a rush with a little runny nose at this point.techincally you should quarantine for 14 days + 10 days from the beginning of onset of symptoms from potential exposure if you are in the same householdTechnically you should quarantine for 14 days

The Oxford vaccine appears to be on average 70% effective but it also appears to be dose dependent. They reported 90% efficacy among the 3000 people who were given an initial 1/2 dose followed by a full dose.
No severe cases or hospitalizations were observed among those receiving either regimen.
