I remember passing by the Pirate Parrot after a game on a hot day. I know that stench.

Allegheny County lifted basically all restrictions
The county restrictions are lifted but the state restrictions remain. I mean, whichever ones weren't ruled unconstitutional. I honestly don't really know what those are...

According to this, the only difference is the outdoor gathering limit which was 100. It is now 250 under state guidelines. But again, I thought things like indoor gathering limits were affected by that judge's rulings.

*edit* Saw this on reddit regarding the unconstitutional ruling:
That battle is over the "all businesses except life sustaining businesses must close for x days" order that came and went months ago. They are trying to decide if what was done in that blanket order was legally enforceable or illegal.
These other restrictions like crowd size in a building are not in the scope of that case.
It's a reddit user comment so it has to be correct.

Thousands of students and teachers have become sick with the coronavirus since schools began opening last month, but public health experts have found little evidence that the virus is spreading inside buildings, and the rates of infection are far below what is found in the surrounding communities.

“I think that’s going to take us April, May, June, you know, possibly July, to get the entire American public completely vaccinated,” CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield told the Senate health and education committee in a Wednesday hearing.
I don’t think this is terribly unreasonable at all.

Maybe we should have an actual vaccine before going on the record as to a timeline of delivery.

I would think they have access to the data in the ongoing trials.

We have 2 new student cases, no employee cases and 48 (!) students in quarantine/isolation.

My Alma mater went back last week or so ago, and they’ve already suspended students and frats/sororities for having parties.

There are rumors our local school district will have everyone back 5 days a week starting soon. K-5 are already doing that, as they can socially distance...the middle and high schools can’t really do that as there are fewer schools. So that should be interesting.

What is the protocol on quarantine/isolation? Is it basically just "stay home pretty please?"

K-12 schools seem to be doing decently after about a month so far.

On our campus they are confined to their dorm room, which means their roommates/suitemates are effectively quarantined as well. 10 days, tested daily, cafeteria brings them food.

Our district has delayed their COVID results for the week...not great.

Seems like fairly good protocol, though. Does the college deliver meals to them?

Yeah, the cafeteria brings them food three times a day.

Eh. You're probably between 18-20 years old, hanging with your buddies, playing video games, getting food delivered to your door, and you don't have to go to class. Doesn't seem that bad. I mean, besides the potentially deadly virus.

I know this is your schtick, but one of our students went home a few weeks ago - and had the virus, but didn't know it - and now has a parent and grandparent in ICU. And it sounds like the grandparent, who had no major health issues other than being over 60 - may not leave the hospital.

So please keep the flu nonsense to yourself.

It is true though. Sorry to hear about the parent, but it doesn’t change facts.

Is wishing COVID on someone the same as wishing someone would get the flu?
