COVID-19
Today in "not helping" a young guy, who lots of folks I know know, had a steel beam fall and hit him in the head Friday and he died yesterday morning. Well he tested positive for coronavirus and now there is a fake news meme being used as a cudgel and shame device about masks in our community saying he died of Covid, not head trauma which is roiling folks up.

Smart. We were signed up for an online plan similar to when this first hit, but teachers just offered Synchronous Learning - Students follow a rigid schedule and attend regularly scheduled daily classes with a live teacher virtually, similar to a normal school schedule. So that's what we will be doing. The plan our school district is proposing is 100% virtual through November, with a re-evaluation after Thanksgiving.

WTF, I don't understand people like this. Just put the damn money in the bin.I was at the BK drive through yesterday and heard the guy in his 40s in front of me screaming. Turns out BK wants customers to put their cash or card in a plastic bin which the cashier then collects. The guy got pissed off and threw his money at the cashier. The wind caught it and blew it beside his car. Guy screams at his daughter in the backseat to get the money but they're parked too close to the building for her to get the door open. So guy pulls up, gets out, gets his cash, goes back to the window, screaming profanities. He again throws the money through the window. The manager hands it back to him and tells him to leave or she'll call the police. He screams some more, returns to his car, and spins out of there. I felt horrible for his daughter and the teenage cashier.

Who is doing the shaming here?Today in "not helping" a young guy, who lots of folks I know know, had a steel beam fall and hit him in the head Friday and he died yesterday morning. Just an FYI, my wife said when she talked to the ACHD person after my positive test, they were marking her and my kids as positive cases as well on the assumption they got it. If that is the case, the numbers include positives for entire households for one person that got it in there.
Whether she misinterpreted that or not is up for debate.

The people misappropriating a young man's death to shame people into wearing a mask are not helping the pro-mask people.

Right. If people knew he died from a totally non-COVID cause they deserve to spin on mikey's wheel. The people misappropriating a young man's death to shame people into wearing a mask are not helping the pro-mask people.

My school district released their COVID procedures yesterday. Parents have to sign a daily electronic form every morning that their child is not showing symptoms and there will be thermal imaging cameras at the entrance. Welcome to the new normal... Also if student/staff test positive, they have to stay home for 14 days and the county will contact you to do contact tracing. After the 14 days are up, you need a doctor's note that you are ok to return. So it doesn't sound like they will shutdown classes or the building or anything special if it happens during in-person school. No specifics if those two weeks of missed school count against the student. I'd hope not, schools need to be flexible here.
Also, if a student/staff gets sick with symptoms during the school day they will have an isolation room set up and then I assume you have to get tested and possible quarantine. Wouldn't t the rest of the class have to as well..? No details yet on that or how they will do lunches, buses, recess, gym, etc.
All this the same day a kid in one of their fall sports camps tested positive and now the camp is shut down

Thermal imaging cameras at the entrance of every school? Wow, that’s pretty cool.
We’re lucky to have a dedicated nurse at each school for the entire day. Which just happened last year or so - prior to that they would work half a day at one school, take lunch, and then go to another school.

Ha, I thought the same thing. We’re in the same boat with nurses. We’ll have teachers checking teacher temps when we get there each morning. Then teachers will check kids temps.Thermal imaging cameras at the entrance of every school? Wow, that’s pretty cool.

ETA... I don’t really live in the boonies.

First few days were achiness, but that seems to have gone. What symptoms are you having? Lose your sense of taste and smell?
Mainly a sore throat, hollow chest, sinus headache, and slight cough.
I never had a fever, and I still have my smell and taste.
