COVID-19
My local district released their initial reopening plan. My kids are going to go back in person. They came up with their own green/yellow/red system based on district needs and is independent what color we are as a state. Plus every student will get a Chromebook thanks to the stimulus package (it shouldn't have taken this for the district to have Chromebooks for everyone, but that's another story). Now we have to do another survey asking our thoughts about the plan.
Green: Full time physical return with mitigation measures in place and masks required all day
Yellow: Half the district goes to school physically two days a week, the other half goes the other two days. The fifth day everyone learns from home. Masks required all day when in school.
Red: Full time remote learning
Local social media has predictably honed in on the mask requirement (mainly due to middle/high schools do not have AC) and how the Superintendent basically asking parents not to send their kids to cyber school (and instead do the district provided remote learning, but people seemed to gloss over that part) due to financial strain it puts on the district.

So you are stealing a vaccine that could have been used on a POC? Check your privilege.Well... I largely stay home, wear a mask, I'm not black or brown, don't go to church, don't work in a factory or meatpacking plant, I'm under 65, no hypertension, lung disease, diabetes, nor obese...
Meh, I'll sign up anyways.

Well if you have a mask on it's not being spread as much, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there.
But I'm talking about the virus being carried in the smoke particulates, since it's something to attach to and can keep the virus airborne longer than just normal breathing.

Allegheny with +158 Cases, +12 Hospitalizations, +0 Deaths. The positive rate is back under 10% at 9.61%. Hopefully the cases and rate continue to go down. If nothing else, it's nice to see a day under 200 after three straight days of 200+. 12 hospitalizations is a big jump, however. 42 hospitalizations in the past week. There have been 20 new ICU cases in the past 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, UPMC says the spike is mostly in younger people due to traveling and not following guidelines. They also stated that there are currently 118 people in the UPMC system and the average age of those people is over 60. I don't think AHN has released any sort of statement on the current spike.
By the way, somehow I'm JUST now noticing that the image of the "Coronavirus" on ACHD's dashboard is one of those dryer balls.

I did a lot of bowling at Meadows Casino and no smoking allowed in bowling part. But lots of smoking was going on in gambling area. I think it is because of money going to taxes. When I went the vast majority of gamblers were older people that still smoke. I am sure they want to keep the oldies going and dumping money in gambling machines. More revenue and more tax money. Be interesting to see if smokers still go with no indoor smoking.Never been to Rivers but..... how do they allow smoking in casinos even before COVID?

They have no choice, as most of the degenerates who spend all day there smoke. Some of the nicer casinos in AC don’t have the issue, but smaller venues like Parx Casino bear Philly smell like absolute **** from the moment you walk in the door thanks to these people.Never been to Rivers but..... how do they allow smoking in casinos even before COVID?

Pardon me, good sir... what's actually occurring here is some for of affirmative action. I'm the victim, clearly. So you are stealing a vaccine that could have been used on a POC? Usually the ventilation in casinos is incredible. Essentially you cant even smell smoke unless you're standing next to a person actively smoking. Plus the whole pumping in oxygenated air thing helps too

The K12 stuff... meh. They're going to open in some form or another because they have to. Couple that with the fact that 3rd graders aren't having house parties, and by and large, K12 students aren't traveling/flooding a community like larger universities are. K12 students already live there, a lot of (most?) university students don't.
I fully acknowledge this perspective is from a person who lives in a college town.

So knowing that each confirmed case likely results in a couple that are never positively identified, you think 650 confirmed cases coming from that small a sample size of locations that are practicing some combination of limiting capacity, mask wearing, social distancing, etc. is not alarming. Not sure how that does anything but support my contention that churches are not a major source of coronavirus cases.Get out of here with your factsUm.....not to be a spoilsport, but am I the only one that saw the bit about those 650 cases related to churches are linked to only around 40 congregations/events?

I’d love that. We go to comedy shows all the time at Parx Casino, and would definitely have dinner there and gamble a bit of it wasn’t for the smoking. Can’t smoke in casinos in Ohio and it is amazingThey have no choice, as most of the degenerates who spend all day there smoke. A conservative estimate has there being 45,000 churches in the United States.
Let's say for the sake of argument 5,000 of them are meeting in person with an average weekly attendance of 75.
There are 650 confirmed cases.
That's not a major source.

If you lived in a duplex and shared a front hallway and a basement with laundry facilities with the upstairs unit and somebody in that unit was in close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid would you want to see your neighbors covid test results?

It’s right up there with “gross” to describe things that are not copious amounts of snot or vomit.I'm not saying that tweet is wrong, but man, the use of "terrifying" these days...really killing the meaning haha...
