Looks like a lot of deaths for US in world meter today. Hopefully it is just the usual Tuesday peak. With the way deaths are reported, Tuesday is always the peak day for deaths.
It’s just reporting.

Arizona which reported over 100, only about 10 occurred in the last 24 hours (there will be more in the subsequent days). The rest were over the last two months.

LA which has yet to report didn’t report from July 3 to July 6th.

Also, Saturday was unusually low because of the holiday. You will see a makeup for that today.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) — Washington County commissioners confirm that the state will announce targeted mitigation efforts for several counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The announcement is expected to come on Wednesday, and it will impact the restaurant industry, as well as the number of people allowed to gather in a group.
I'm guessing no indoor dining and no groups larger than 10 for all of SW PA.
Sure hope they don't close gyms again. I am starting to feel pretty good again after a few weeks of regular exercise.

Is "targeted mitigation" = "yellow"?

Jfc with these levels.

No. Targeted mitigation means targeting in on the types of businesses that are showing up in multiple contract tracings, namely bars and restaurants. I’ll be shocked if we go back to yellow.

Did I read correctly that Allegheny county is only capable of tracing 8 cases per day?

I also did not realize that over 60% of those that are asymptomatic, still have lung damage

It's as if getting it and not dying isn't a great option either

My mother-in-law has been sick for about a week and should get her test results back sometime between 7 AM and 9 PM today. She’s had a wide array of symptoms but a lack of respiratory problems leaves us optimistic that she caught something else.

Any loss of smell or taste? That seems to be the clearest indication.

This could go in the Facebook hatred thread, but a former coworker asked FB what were some legit religious exemptions for mask wearing. One woman responded that there weren't any (I don't know/care enough to look into this), but she refuses to wear a mask anyway. She's an adult and the government should treat us like adults. I wanted to post my usual "It's not about you, it's about those who are vulnerable etc." but decided I didn't know the woman and didn't give a ****.

I did check her profile. From Alabama. "Confederate flag/memorials are our heritage" memes are recent posts. Figured as much.

Not a complete loss, but diminished, probably because she’s extremely congested?

I would be concerned, and didn't you say that a little bit ago that your family members had some potential exposure?

Correct, but that was a couple months ago when all this **** started. The role definitions are different in Mexico vs. here, but she’s a Principal at a private elementary school and had to go back to work two weeks ago to start meeting with pissy parents who refuse to pay unless their kids have in-person instruction and start laying off teachers and other school employees they can no longer afford. She went from near complete isolation to meeting with hundreds of people over the past two weeks so who knows what she was exposed to.

I think if there's one thing we're learning through all this is that Americans have become too stupid and stubborn

coronavirus isn't strong enough to do major major major damage but if its mortality rate was a little higher we would be doomed

Arizona was at 80% hospital bed usage at the beginning of June, today 85%.
