COVID-19

Postby nocera » Fri May 29, 2020 12:26 pm

Hmm that's interesting. Not surprisingly, 40% of all COVID hospitalizations in Allegheny are 70+ years old. 60-69 is 27%, 50-59 is 15%, 40-49 is 10%, 30-39 is 6%, 20-29 is 3%.

Supposedly most of SW PA is going to green when the Governor has his conference. Butler county is supposed to stay yellow as well as Beaver.

A reminder of the green phase. It's not business as usual.

That 250 gatherings is pretty insane and a huge jump from yellow, though.

I think green not being “back to normal” is very confusing. A lot of people will treat it as such.

My boss and I were talking about that today. People see green and that means go.

What do you mean by "people" will think it is back to normal? What can they do differently? They still have to wear masks...that won't change. "people" be able to go out to more places, but the number of people allowed in those places will still be restricted. gatherings will be limited to 250, which is a lot. I don't see how "people" are going to have the ability to "misbehave"

I guarantee that ALOT of people will see green and be like welp I don't have to wear a mask anywhere anymore, or keep socially distant. They will just see green and think all is good and not read any recommendations.

Maybe. Then they'll realize they're wrong when they try and go somewhere

OK but if they're not allowed in what are they gonna do, stand by the door scratching their head?

Not stand 6 feet apart? No color code from Gov. Wolf is going to stop anyone from standing 6 feet apart if they dont want to.

As someone that really isn't too interested in the pomp and circumstance of this...I would assume that green means much less restriction than it's written to be...(until it was posted, I never sought out to read what it represented)...

It also has no real affect on my life...though, I lost my mask at some point this weekend, so I have to order another one, which is annoying...

Green is pretty much life as normal for me, minus sporting events plus a mask. I assume I'll be able to skate (have been the past couple weeks anyway) and go to the gym again (its been secretly open but I'm lazy). Bars and restaurants if I so choose.

My plan is to sit back in chill a few weeks in the green before I start pretending like this is over.

We got the OK to basically play youth soccer with limited spectators, copious amounts of hand sanitizer, ball cleaning, and no handshakes once we go to green.

I had thought it was "all restrictions lifted" but who knows when that will be. A month ago green just meant "follow CDC recommendatins" but that has changed obviously.

The KDKA article I read said masks are recommended but the AP article said you still have to wear them i.e mandatory. I'm sure people will be confused.

That's what I did/am doing with my gym. Trainer is only taking in 3 people per hour slot, but I'm giving it time to see how that goes before I make my decision to go back.
