Corona cures are the new cancer cures.

Will believe it when I see it.
Some sense of hope from dodint is too much to ask? :(

I have faith that someone of good will or looking for fame and fortune will solve this.

I think there is hope for a quick vaccine. Vaccine efforts aren't starting from a blank slate. Coronaviruses have been studied for a long time, so while this is a new coronavirus, it's not a completely novel type of virus. And there were efforts to develop vaccines in regard to SARS and MERS that petered out when those diseases died out. From what I've read, a significant amount of that prior work may translate over.
Yeah sure fine good.

Put it with the Pitt vaccine. And the Gates one. That Bulgarian drunk docotor, too. We will need them all.

There are more "stories" and theories floating around about COVID then I can shake a stick at. I liked it when the news was slower and waited for some actual proven facts instead just putting out stories on social media to get people fired up.
Ahhhhh I miss the gold old days. :)

I'm thankful we have a ton of vacuum sealed lean beef and chicken breast in our freezer, but that sht is definitely scary. I was at Walmart yesterday, don't normally ever buy meat there but the chicken section was totally wiped out.

When this first started, I went to get groceries and the meat section, tp section, cleaning section, and canned section were basically empty. I went to three stores and saw the exact same thing. Now, I'll tell you, ya boy meow is about as unflappable of a human being that exists, but ya boy was absolutely shook. It's returned to normal since then, but we went a few days without meat because of it.

Giant eagle had fresh chicken breast for 1.99 yesterday, which is about as cheat as chicken breast gets in Pittsburgh.

If the supply exists, I have faith that getting the supply down the supply chain would be able to be figured out.

How Bill Gates comes out as a quasi-villain for predicting something that something that was able to be seen outside of just him is bonkers, but these are the people that sell essential oils, or whatever type of marketing **** you have to buy to get into.

Tennessee is open for business. :scared: Restaurants and retail at 50% capacity where I live in bumfvck. Under 100 cases here confirmed in my county with drive thru testing available. I think I’m just going to continue my new normal, go to get groceries once every two weeks or so. Cook good food at home. And go run around in a national forest on the weekends it doesn’t downpour. Found almost five pounds of morels this past weekend! Although, it’s easy for me to say it’s too early, knowing nothing about virology as well as WFH before all this, but, I’m gonna wait and see before I get too frisky.

+11 Cases, +9 Hospitalizations, +8 Deaths in Allegheny County.

Only 244 tests conducted. 14 new deaths in two days and a big jump in hospitalizations when compared to the last week or so. Still well under the criteria to move into the yellow so I guess we'll see?

This is heartbreaking:
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, 257 residents and 84 staff members at 31 long-term care facilities in Allegheny County have tested positive for COVID-19. There have been 58 deaths at those facilities.
So nearly 28% of cases are either a resident or staff at a long-term care facility, and the 58 deaths make up 55% of all deaths in Allegheny County.

Giant Iggle is now delivering groceries in the Somerset area. I guess now I can stay inside my house for the next year.

I think by and large that is how everyone is going to treat it. Should be interesting to see if opening up Kohls and allowing work on various construction sites has a meaningful impact on the number of new cases.

Chicken and toilet paper were the first two items I noticed being completely absent at stores last month. It was so head shake funny to me; the stores I primarily shop at also service an affluent clientele, and to see how completely selective people were was just.... illuminating.

Re the beaches in SoCal

LA County was (and remains) shut down, but the beaches in Ventura and Orange Counties were opened 'with restrictions'. No one adhered to the restrictions. I just saw on the news that it was estimated that 40,000 people were at Corona del Mar beach (Newport) each day last weekend.

Makes me glad we buy our meat from a butcher. We had to wait an extra week for our meat when we ordered early this month, but it'll last us a couple months before we have to buy again.
