COVID-19
Is there an actual plan in progress out there that doesn't have massive testing involved...? Because I don't see enough data out there that would prove we don't need testing (or more)...I've also become slightly more disinterested in this because of my desire to constantly be entertained...

I don't think anything important happens until testing is widely improved. I just don't see how they can even begin to open anything serious when testing still doesn't appear to be widely available.
Would they open it without testing? I'd imagine so, I just don't understand how that works and the logistics of it.

Yeah and how often do you keep testing? If I want to Ikea today how do they know I tested negative via home test or at Giant Eagle last week? Or if I test positive for the antibody how do I prove that via tracking? Or I have the antibody and my wife doesn't, does she have to continue staying at home? What a mess.
Also I saw someone mention about if in-person dining opens in summer and the HVAC system is cranking, can it spread the virus around the whole place?

I do wonder if they go the temperature route. We saw that everywhere in Italy and China that if you even had a sniff of a fever, you'd have to leave. (not that it'd solve anything, just trying to figure out a way to do this without little testing)
COVID-19
If I have to let some random person take my temperature every time that I want to go out in public, I guess I really don't want to go out in public.
Also, if I have a fever on that day, I probably didn't for 5-14 days and spread the virus to everyone in line to get their temperature taken.

If you're going out in public with a "fever" you're likely going to get tested and get upset you were tested, I would think. If I have to let some random person take my temperature every time that I want to go out in public, I guess I really don't want to go out in public.

Whenever they allow people back to my building, there will be mandatory temperature readings before being allowed to enter, and you have to fill out a chart listing any symptoms you may have.I do wonder if they go the temperature route. This seems a little tough, at least to me. Didn't know a judge could make public orders like this.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo issued a 30-day order mandating citizens to wear face masks in order to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The order takes effect Monday, April 27 and requires the county's nearly 5 million residents ages 10 years and older to cover the nose and mouth while out in public or face up to a $1,000 fine.

A County Judge in Texas is similar to the County Executive in Allegheny County. Sort of the CEO of the county.
Learned this last year in Houston when Hidalgo was holding press conferences about a chemical leak over in Deer Park. Wondered why a Judge would have that role.

I can see that happening at a lot of places. Will yours be a daily requirement?Whenever they allow people back to my building, there will be mandatory temperature readings before being allowed to enter, and you have to fill out a chart listing any symptoms you may have.

Renewing this grievance; just saw my first COVID-19 themed lawyer commercial. This thing has jumped the shark. We've been doing this long enough now that marketing departments have been able to turn the #VeryConcernedCEO e-mails into #VeryConcernedCEO television commercials. So if I have the TV on at 1am trying to fall asleep, watching some mindless comedy from the '90s, I get a 2-3 minute block a few times an hour reminding me that the world is coming to an end but if I feel the urge there are some companies happy to take my money in the meantime.
It'll border on the edge of concern trolling and into profiteering soon.

Yep, this will be part of everyone's daily routine until a vaccine is available. Here's hoping that we can just avoid this by continuing to WFH full time.I can see that happening at a lot of places. We had a division town hall yesterday. CIAO said that full-time work from home is sustainable and being looked at for a permanent solution. We're all hoping that happens here, as well. Weeks before COVID, we heard a rumor that leadership wanted to cut leasing costs, and that moving IS to 100% WFH made the most sense. If there's any positive that came of this virus, it's that we proved that we can go full-time WFH at the drop of a hat and be effective. Imagine what we could expand upon if they threw a little money and planning into this, is what I've told leadership myself. We had a division town hall yesterday. If everyone works from home fine through this situation, then there is no reason it can't be done year round every year after this. Yeah there will be exceptions but pushback is a cultural issue IMO. I was WFH full time before covid anyway but my company has an office where some people still have to go in and they have daily temperature readings and mask requirement plus sitting all spread out. If your temp is elevated ,they send you home. Who wants to return to an office from WFH and have to do that? Also, maybe this pandemic will kill the open office concept once and for all. Hopefully.

test kits are the limiting factor to ramping up testingHow we can we expand testing? I assume more testing will be a key factor in advancing a county to the next reopening phase. Allegheny County has only tested about 1% of its population. Do we do it at the grocery store like NY's test? In-home kits? Test at each employer? Of course some people will resist and how do you get a test out of them within the boundaries of the law? Lots of questions ahead.
